Clattenburg, the FA & Adebayor - proof that the system is bent

I watched the Pizzagate video yesterday. The Man Utd Arsenal game from around 2004. The challenges in that game and the refereeing were absolutely unbelievable.

We've got it easy. That game comes from another world. Incredible number of sending off offences in a single game and they just go on and on, and then to top it off, a penalty to win the game. Nothing like that happens now. The funniest thing for me is the deadpan response from the commentators as the challenges go in. Even they are shocked but do very well to stay calm.

Halsey comments being discussed on Sunday supplement now. Let's see how they try and brush this under the carpet....

Thierry Henry was a truly fabulous footballer. Great to be reminded of the sheer quality of those goals.

That Arsenal side was the best we have ever seen. they raised the bar

To get back to the original point I have read all 19 pages and no one has mentioned the Rooney elbow a couple of seasons ago. Sorry cannot remember the game but it was clearly shown on screen, Clattenburg ignored it and FA later stated the ref had seen it but decided it was a coming together. Which was strange as the only contact was Rooney's elbow and the defender's ear with both of them jumping for the ball.

Thanks bada, precisely the incident. That shouts out something is wrong here. And Clattenburg again.

Back to Ade, If players were given red cards for provoking opposition fans through their gestures or celebrations Rooney would never start a game at the Etihad. Every manure game at our place he comes out for the warm up, heads straight for 110 puffs his chest out as he reaches the edge of the pitch and disguises a bit of a hand gesture. Despite the cameras following him around like lap dogs whenever he appears this never gets shown.

If there was ever any doubt that Riley was completely and utterly bent then that video should remove them. Same with Clattenburg in that 2007 Merseyside derby. Yet one is now head of the Elite referees group and the other is a top flight referee. It's utterly depressing.

Last seasons cup final was a fecking joke, an absolute disgrace of a rigged fiasco

The thing is, why do they even feel the need to do all this secretive underhand nonsense. Most of us are able to accept that refereeing is an incredibly tough job and with the sheer pace of the game and things happening all over the place the ref is going to miss or fail to appreciate the severity of an incident from time to time. If they think an incident requires an additional punishment after watching it on Tv from several angles and in slow motion just say so. I'm sure it has been done before, wasn't the Ben Thatcher / Pedro Mendes clash dealt with with a yellow card at the time and then a ban rightly dished out afterwards?
