I keep hearing people talk about having "a clear out" of the deadwood but who specifically do you all mean. Come on name and shame
For me it would be:
Goalkeepers
* Marton Fulop (HUN)
* Gunnar Nielsen (FAR)
* Stuart Taylor (ENG)

Defenders
* Sylvinho (BRA)
* Javier Garrido (ESP)
* Shaleum Logan * (ENG)
* Micah Richards (ENG)

Midfielders

* Kelvin Etuhu * (NGR)
* Michael Johnson (ENG)
* Martin Petrov (BUL)
* Shaun Wright-Phillips (ENG)

Strikers

* Valeri Bojinov * (BUL)
* Felipe Caicedo * (ECU)
* Jô * (BRA)
* Benjani Mwaruwari* (ZIM)
* Robinho * (BRA)
* Roque Santa Cruz (PRY)

That is 17 players (6 of them either being out on loan or on loan at city) a lot of change in a squad that's already been through masses of change but i cant see any of them being good enough for next year

Adebayor clearly not as good as he thinks and he is one of the laziest if not laziest player in the premier league,we do tend to play way better without him and you just have to look at his record against any top teams this year he hasn't scored,played well or done anything of note.

Kolo toure damn the guy is past it,he was all over the place yesterday,that is what happened when your game is built around pace and yesterday i can recall at least 4 times when he was left so far behind by defoe and pavlyunchenko movemvents,also he is so scared of heading the ball it is as if he would die if he did so.

Bridge i can't see what people used to see when they wanted him to replace ashley cole,he has no,no skill,no positional sense and his so called attacking game is so dire he should be playing in the championship.

I disagree having a mass clearout as we need to have a competent squad, i.e. competition in all places, even if those considered just a squad player wont get many games. But here's my thoughts on those you name;

For me it would be:
Goalkeepers
* Marton Fulop (HUN) on loan so going anyway
* Gunnar Nielsen (FAR) Only need one 3rd string player and i'd pick Taylor
* Stuart Taylor (ENG) See above

Defenders
* Sylvinho (BRA) He's had his day
* Javier Garrido (ESP)Ok for a backup - keep
* Shaleum Logan * (ENG) Played so few games it's hard to form an opinion
* Micah Richards (ENG) Keep - he's on the road to getting back to his old form now he's back at right back. If someone could just teach him about positioning

Midfielders

* Kelvin Etuhu * (NGR) Agree - deadwood
* Michael Johnson (ENG) Fantastic before he got injured. Needs to be given a chance to show it again
* Martin Petrov (BUL) Good player. Would keep as a squad player but it looks like he wants to go
* Shaun Wright-Phillips (ENG) Not the same player since Chelsea, but has worked well as an impact sub - Keep as a squad player

Strikers

* Valeri Bojinov * (BUL) Agree - Deadwood
* Felipe Caicedo * (ECU) I like the guy. Squad player only though
* Jô * (BRA) A whole Brazilian rainforest full of deadwood
* Benjani Mwaruwari* (ZIM) Agree - deadwood
* Robinho * (BRA) On those rare occasions he puts the effort in, fantastic. Unfortunately, these are few and far between. I'd happily let him go to Santos on a free
* Roque Santa Cruz (PRY) A trier, but lacks quality, making him deadwood

I also have my reservations about Bridge. he gets turned too easily time and time again. And Toure needs to stop ballwatching and watch his man

My list of players that can leave (excluding players that are on loan at City):

GK. Nielsen (Lacking the quality, but could do well in CCC)
LB. Javier Garrido (Has improved, but it seems not enough for the top)
LB. Sylvinho (Although he has a lot of football knowledge, he's walking on his last legs)

RM. Etuhu (Plays now in the league where he belongs)
CM. M. Johnson (After injuries he didn't get back to his previous level)
LM. M. Petrov (Seems to want to play every week, but won't get that here)

CF. Bojinov (It'd be good if we can cash in on him, with Serie A clubs making offers)
CF. Jô (Sell him, without any explanation needed)
CF. Benjani (Same as Jô)
CF. Santa Cruz (Wasn't able to do what he was being paid for and that's scoring goals)
CF. Caicedo (Not selling, loan him out again)

I wouldn't sell Robinho until after the World Cup, his value can either increase or decrease depending on his performance which are usually quite good when he's playing for the NT.

i would get rid of
barry
bridge
santa
jo
robinho
caicado
bojinov
benjani (on loan stil ?)

Well, I'd get rid of anybody who is unhappy. We don't need those sort of players when we are trying to achieve what we are.

But, the players I'd defintely get rid of are:

Ireland
Bridge
Sylvinho
Vieira
Petrov
Santa Cruz

All the loaned out players apart from Hart and Caicedo.
