Yeh I'm sure there was one you did with the blue shield and white stripes on a shirt but I just can't find it anywhere on the thread.

You know how much I love your designs mate, when you did those ones on the shirt without all the background writing of players names, they looked so much cleaner and realistic, I honestly don't think the club will be able to top them.

I know people have joked about the club paying you millions for the design, but I hope the club don't give us a sub standard design because they are concerned about infringing the intellectual property rights of your design. It really will be tough to beat.
 
The Eagle was introduced on the MCC crest in the 1950's and was used by City in the late 50's and 60's. In the 90's the same design eagle was used by the Designer of the new badge. Would love to see the badge to stay the same. If the stars have to go just replace them with Bees.

I agree with this, save the Eagle. I actually like the current badge stars and all, which at the end of this season will represent our 3 premiership titles. Been a fan since 1956 and feel the current badge is a symbol of our growth to become one of the worlds major teams.
 
Alot of slating in this topic about the current Eagle and how it's "meaningless/pointless" etc

Yet it does remarkably resemble the Roman Eagle, and correct me if I'm wrong here but isn't this City an original Roman Castrum?
This is what I was taught at School anyway lol...
Meaning a military area for the Roman Empire, so the Eagle does represent in parts the history of Manchester.

I have more of a nostalgic liking of our circular badge as this was the badge we had when I first became aware of the club,
But we have had success in recent years with the new badge, so maybe a circular badge incorporating the Eagle instead of say the Lancashire Rose (even though I am a proud Lancastrian) would go down well with me anyway... Can't please everyone though.

I just hate the three stars in the current badge, I mean I really despise them and have done since Kappa or whoever the fuck it was brought the badge in.

There's another problem with the rose... Looks like a white one in monochrome.

Much better with the rivers. Can we get a white roundel with dark lettering on that one?

In colour and mono?

no escaping that ... probably get away if its all in monochrome, but if its meant to specifically a Lancashire Rose, turning it one a Yorkshire one defeats the object. Another to thinh to think about for the dymanic use of the badge overall.

something different again .... secretly, i'm swinging to this .... Ship sailing the 3 rivers over the Bluemoon.... so its best i stop an d shut tup now ....

no, i'll keep the 'moon's' thanks. why 1884?? .... if you mean 1894 and if you mean 18 on the left and 94 on the right, that is ridiculous, you cant split up a year, it just becomes two seperate numerical values and looks shite.

cant use the Crosse Pattee as, if you colour invert it, it becomes the Nazi Iron Cross.

lancashire rose ... again if inverted from a dark to light colour looks like a yorkshire rose ....

bees ..... remind me of Boddingtons not Manchester City.

and as for these 'rules' you are talking about, there are no rules. Tbe font is the same type and size. one is is bold to make sure the name of the football club is prominent. If you look at the other CFG badges that are the same way.

or .... for a better idea .... do one yourself.

Not meant as a dig sorry if it came off like that. just a bit of constructive criticism. I would do one but i dont have the time!

In the interest of balance would you think you could take the latest eagle version and stick it on the glass Gav. I know it's sleeping with the enemy but .... :-)

It can actually be about more than the location, the club itself is old enough... there are no set rules about what a badge should be about(even though you seem to believe there are), only opinions. There's no reason we can't find a middle ground(ships, three lines and the eagle all happily co-existing on a round badge, some fairly decent efforts here already) but some people want it all their own way. One thing is for sure everyone is ok with the stars being fucked off.

Or have an eagle with a rose in its mouth with the bees on the rose [emoji23]
