ye. instead of the 3 rivers we should have 2 black lads minding a car.I know you can't fit everything in the badge but what about links to MainRoad on it.

Come to the last talk where I explain all about formation dates - 1894 is when MCFC was formed and Ardwick played after MCFC was established, so 1894 all the way. Plus one day we may well find an earlier game for St Marks. Stranger things have happened.
Having been an avid follower of this thread and having been to Gary James' talk on Wednesday, I have to say that this is my preferred choice.
It has the club name, in full
It is a circle
It has the right shape of shield
It has the ship and three stripes
It's simple, not too busy
The white background to the writing will make the club name stand out on the kit
Maroon and gold will stand out on the shirt
It doesn't have a cross - as a complete atheist I don't want any religious connotations
It doesn't have the rose - the red rose is actually the "Red Rose of Lancaster" (yes that's LANCASTER, a town that is over 55miles away!), it isn't called the "Lancashire rose" and it never has been called that
It doesn't have the eagle - it's been used as a sole emblem by United and I don't think it looks good
It doesn't have the daft Latin on there
For me, this is perfection!
If it had FC after Manchester City and 1894 at the bottom of the circle I'd be happy with that.
Just noticed on TV that FC Rags have ship and three rivers on their badge
so do Rags FC ... its the symbol of manchester cos we have no distinctive landmark or anything.
but yeah ... just seen thier badge .... mine look pretty much the same so anything like mine cant be used now surely ... some of mine look just a city coloured of theirs which is a united colour version of our old badge.

It's the last week of consultations. Ends 14th. One more talk left (tomorrow at 12.30, email badgelectures@mcfc.co.uk Cheers
not about trademark its about having the same badge as them now but in different colours ... they have theirs, they use it .... we dicked around not changing it back ... so now we either have one like thirs in our colours or something completely different ... i'm opting for something different now, christ, i'd even keep the badge we have now ffs.
We need to stay away from ship @ rivers now
Fuck that, City had a version of that badge 80 years ago! You're saying we can't use it now because some tin pot semi professional team have ripped it off using Microsoft Paintbrush?
No chance, if anyone shouldn't be able to use it, it's them. We used a variation of that badge for over 60 years. I'd like to see them in court try and argue we're infringing on their copyright. If anything, we could take them to court and put them out of business.
I'm not an Intellectual Property lawyer, but I know that even if you don't have a registered trademark, if you have evidence that you are have essentially been using a logo as your trademark then you have certain rights that are protected. Absolutely no chance could FCUM claim we were infringing their copyright, if anything the reverse is true.
Come to the last talk and see. Tomorrow 12.30. Email badgelectures@mcfc.co.ukA bit like the stadium expansion, I suspect this has long been decided.
