Club have issued a statement regarding the bollocks printed by the Sun.

This is great as it shows the owners will no longer accept this crap from the media. Perhaps now they will realise the owners are not going to stand for it any longer, and if they do lawsuits will follow I would imagine.

...also backs up what Ajay posted a couple of weeks back

About time to;

Club statement 06/03/2009 08:00

Following an article in The Sun newspaper which claimed that Manchester City are preparing a £100m bid for Lionel Messi, the Club would like to make the following information clear.
The story is untrue and this fact has been accepted by the newspaper in question. General comments about Lionel Messi, made by Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, who holds no position at the Club, were mistakenly linked to Manchester City.

The article was printed in error and an apology to His Highness Sheikh Mansour, Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak and Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim and a correction in Saturday's edition of the newspaper will follow

Al-Fahim hasn't really done us many favours from the start, but at least he's been moved on.

As for the Sun, you'd have thought they'd have checked before going along with such rubbish.

I miss Ajay, who hasn't been the same since the Kaka implosion. Had some exchanges with him & an interesting chat (virtually all of it non-footy stuff) but since the mauling he got from some quarters he's gone completely AWOL.
