After Banging on last week and getting into 1 or 2 arguments (Sorry for that). This will be my last post on the subject.

I am one of the Lucky few to get tickets this morning, But a lot of city & access card holders were not, even though they should have been given priority over the newbies. Is there anyone on here that can air these views higher up preferably to Gary Cook? so that next time, the club put some offer on, there is an order and it's not just a free for all.

i don;t think they have and if they do they don't keep to it

Its a fucking joke mate......especially letting people without City cards buy up to 6 tickets each. Not even got one now and am so pissed off.
I bet there's a load of greedy tout's outside the ground on the night selling em for 20 quid each !!

i know what you mean but look at it from the clubs point of view, we get 20k for other games so something had to be done, they then get slated for filling the ground.
i bet next time the can't be arsed lot wont piss about, they'll buy their tickets and get down there.

So why not at least stagger the sales for a week....let those with cards get them first ?

Another thread, same subject.

The club aren't daft, they will have seen how much demand outstripped supply for this game. But noone predicted demand would be this big. When the prices were announced, we all debated that we might just get a sellout, or close. Nobody on the whole of Bluemoon expressed concern about loyal fans not getting tickets.

I am sure they will stagger sales if we get to the semis. This was a one-off. I am sure the club have learnt from it.

maybe a publicity stunt? Or something to do with the overage to the council. Does anyone know the terms?

ie 45,000 * 5 = 225,000
or 22,000 * 10 = 220 000

little difference in money - but maybe the council only take a certain % over and above ticket sales of a certain level ?

if thats the case the club win as they get a full house, fans are happy with £5 and they are not having to give as much to the conuncil for overage.

1. They couldnt predict the demand for tickets on day 1.

2. They also wouldn't be able to predict the number of people who would not buy because of the staggering system.

The main priority, after the last round was for MCFC to fill the stadium for a European Q/F and fortunatly, in thier eyes, they've done it.

Keep looking mate, i'm sure you'll find a ticket.

but they will make loads more from car parks , programmes , food , drinks etc from having an extra 23k in the ground

good point

My guess, and it is a guess, is that they will only just get into profit from this game. The TV money will boost the revenue too.

They have not done this for the money, obviously.

The club get full revenue and profit upto 33,000 attendance.

They split with the council anything over 33,000 & below 40,000 - 50% (ie 50% of profit on 7000 split)

Then anything over 40,000 is split 70 - 30 in favour of council. (ie the 8000 that would make up a full house).

However, i reckon as they are moving the admin/office staff out of the stadium they are preparing to develop and increase capacity - which i suspect would mean the council are prepared to sell the ground to ADUG.

There is a core of around 25000 that have been at the European games. They aint all Season Ticket holders so the ones that are not should have been accomodated and they haven't.

Not wishing to bang on about this any more...But the club were taken by suprise, big time. Admit it..If you thought we were going to sell out you'd have been down to the ground and queued an hour in the rain to get one or more.
Basically, great idea poorly executed.
Should have been ST holders then City Card holders then open sale...Problem is it's the season ticket holders who will be bringing people who haven't been for a while and those are the people the club want to come back...Loss leaders.

As I've said before if only half the season ticket holders brought just one person with them, then that would be the ground sold out.
If we get through to the semi, i'm sure the club would not make the same mistake..They will have at least 3 weeks to prepare, possibl a lot longer if we are at home for the second leg.
It'll be ST holders then City card then accesscard holders with points system in operation, then open sale for anyone else...If they'd have used this system for this game there would be still loads of seats left...and stay empty cos people cannot take a mate then say -
"you're over in the North stand mate on yer own, I'm in my usual seat in the South stand, see ye later!"
Even more so for people wanting to take kids to the COMS for the first time.
Say a ST holder wanted to take their son to the Hamburg game for his first match, he'd have to wait until the game came on open sale so they could actually sit together as he could only have bought his own ST seat until that time.
Therefore it wouldn't have been a sell out, it would have just been the same as usual, half full...or at the very most as full as a league game, still probably 4000 empty seats.
