Maybe if the Government clarified the furlough rules to say that businesses cannot just furlough some staff and continue to pay others as normal, where they are unable to work as business is effectively not operating, if they are going to utilise the scheme.

No offence but you and others are saying the Government should do something, first, the govt. had to act quickly in a fast moving situation and came up with a very decent package. Second, morals come into it and if necessary public shaming. the government have enough to do at the moment getting to grips with a deadly virus if people cant or wont act responsibly and ethically there is not much we could do. If the govt. changed the legislation the crooks would find a way round it. Liverpool made a huge profit last year and as I already posted, paid huge bonuses to their staff only 2 months ago for winning the club world cup. the fact that they are now saying they want to use the furlough is a shame that will live with them for ever. (And yes I know they already have shame heaped upon them but it is a bit much blaming the government.
