Seems Qatar are out of the running for Manure now.

Begs the question, which English clubs would be a good 'project' for a rich benefactor? Fan base, stadium, debt, and cost all play a factor here.

Spurs are a London team with a great stadium but would probably be 2 Bill+ to buy now. So I'm ruling them out. West Ham are a London team who rent a big stadium (60k+), would probably cost around the 400-500 M mark to buy, so a posibility. Everton will be playing in a brand new stadium, have a great history and fan base, but a lot of debt. Probably be around the £600 M mark to buy.

Sunderland? 48 k seater, decent catchment area, big rivalry with Newcastle (who also have rich owner), could probably be bought for 50-80 Million.

It seems to me that the Qataris want the finished product (As far as global reach goes), I dont think they have shown the patience needed to grow a club from ground up. So that leaves :

Arsenal - I cant see it whilst things are going good
Spurs - Yeah I think this could happen, Levy seemed open to it a few weeks ago.
Chelsea - No
lfc - I dont understand why this wouldnt happen except is USA investment firm and they see even more growth in the product over the next few years.

West Ham, Leeds, Sunderland, Villa, would be worth investment for growth imo with some good backing.

West Ham
Everton
Villa

Hopefully not spurs - not for any other reason but that I hate them

What about a team from the championship?

Sunderland - Geordies woul go into meltdown
Birmingham - Second biggest city after London
Leicester - premiership history
Southampton - great pedigree with producing young talent and have been ravaged by the scouse over the years
Leeds - hope not but the rags would hate that

It would take a lot longer with any of these due to FFP BUT it would be great to see

Sunderland
Brighton
Leeds
Sheffield Wednesday
West Ham
Portsmouth
Everton
Sheffield United
Spurs
