Coffee

Coffee schmoffee - I started drinking it after been given the finger wag over suger which destroyed my love of tea - so I do use Dulce Gusto coffee pods now - Latte Macchiato and Flat White - I'm not interested in the montser Caffeine hits of Americano Intenso or other bonkers mixes (WTF is Mokka anyway, is it made of ground up Vauxhalls or something?)

Not true. Decent decaf from any roastery worth your money uses Swiss water extraction method. It’s do with how caffiene is solubale at a different rate to the other compounds in coffee, or something.

I went on a tour of a roastery a few years ago where the guy went into it in a lot of detail but I’ve forgotten most of it now!
Well the good old Internet said chemicals.
Plus, how do you get Swiss water in Guatemala?
To me that's a con, it's like those vegans who somehow extract the meat from sausages

haha

It has that name as the process was invented in Switzerland and the patent is now owned by a company called "Swiss Water", I believe.

I might be wrong but that is my loose memory of it - and it's all done at the roaster stage not the growing stage. So your farmer in Guatemala doesn't have anything to do with it.

:-)
My farmer in Guatemala grows, picks, dries, roasts and packs each bag by hand. He then transports it to the airport from where it is flown to North Wales.
And no he doesn't fly the plane himself, he's got enough to do.

Caffeine free coffee, what next. Huh.

Coffee pods…..not proper coffee ……just for lazy cunts who can’t be bothered making it properly

I'm addicted to it. Latte's from shops/petrol stations.
Have to have a minimum of 2 per day, and anything up to 5.
I remember when I was a child my mum giving my dad lectures as he smoked and was spending £5 - £10 a day on fags, or whatever they cost back then. Its the same here.

Must try to go off it some day.....

I'm rather partial to a mocha. It's effectively a latte with chocolate. MInd, no more than one a day and preferably last thing.

If i may offer a challenge to the coffee drinkers here.

For those using decent beans and a proper technique (Instants need not apply), try drinking your coffee black (americano if you will), no sugar, no milk, nothing.

It's odd for the first few but then you learn that you didn't need milk and sugar anyways and plain coffee is actually sweet enough.

I did this on a zero diary/sugar/wheat diet and never returned to milk and sugar in a coffee. I can't abide it now.

My go-to first drink of the day. Always strong and black, no sugar.

Was given a stove top moka pot as a present and love the results. Still trying different blends but I’ve changed full time from a cafetière except when making two or cups/mugs.

Your post doesn't make sense.

Decent, sensible, proper, coffee drinkers don't put milk or sugar in their brew.

We are not like the Spanish/Italians who put 4 sugars in an espresso. We do it neat.

Exactly the same for me!
