Not everybody follows team this much I guess. Both Pep's and Palmer's public stanpoints were absolutely clear: Cole wanted to play more, starting eleven, and Pep's could not promise him it, he asks him to stay and fight for his place. Palmer made quite reasonable choice. He would fight and probably failed at game time over players like Foden/Alvarez/Grealish/Haaland, not mentioning KDB, Bernardo Silva or - what was known at stage of Palmer's transfer - Doku.

In the end of the day is to much to ask for Cole, regarding his numbers at the senior stage. I mean he was rookie with much talent. And he the best player at Chelsea immediately. Its by the way proof, how well coached are our players and from Academy. Unpopular truth is we should support Palmer. It makes good reputation for acadamy players and making profit of deals. Palmer, even on current, fantastic form, would not get to City's first 11 anyway. Maybe, just maybe now with injuries. But certainly not when Haaland and KDB are additionally back.

And a great thing and the end is. We have Osbar Bobb. And guy really looks a real deal. And thanks to Cole to Chelsea, he receives proper minutes.

Wasn’t he? I’d say he got similar chances to Foden but never made the most of them. Not City’s loss, in fact think every one wins from the deal, chelsea, Palmer and City. Think Bobb is showing that he’s making more of his first team opportunities than Palmer did.

Bobb has barely played, so i think it’s a bit early to compare. Palmer in quite a few games was excellent. In the champions. League and the community shield he did take his chances - it’s very difficult when you barely play to show consistency though.

I’d like to see Bobb get more minutes, but it’s similar to palmer I just can’t see how he’s going to consistently play when everyone’s fit.

I thought this pre season he was stepping up..scoring a few, looking like a switch had been turned with CP thinking right i need to show more of my considerable talent...then ...he was sold...I admit i wish he showed some more balls in his early appearances,,,but the timing of this one..i think we would have a genuine asset this season, creating and finishing. That pass yesterday and that finish..gotta admit its not just form but genuine class...good luck to him, i hope he smashes it wherever he plays. Just wish we had a make or break year with him this season

Have Palmer ever played LW? Genuine question. And its not that important, because still - at full strenght he does not overcome Grealish/Doku duo, or even Foden when Pep calls for Bernardo as RW or Alvarez. Hes far from being better than those players. Plus I disagree about Grealish. Hes work for us is still so underrated, both impact with attack and defense.

Yes but...ahh well ...he's gone now...what I do think though is that in the years to come you can see him as a number 10 central playmaker pulling the strings.... those players are great to watch so would have loved it if there was a way to get him playing more...slowly and gradually, enough to keep him striving then say in a few years we MAY have had a Galactico on our hands. Similar stats Bellingham in the England youth set up and didn't seem overawed by him when I watch English youth matches on the box
