Cole Palmer

Wasn’t Foden on the bench most games when he was Palmer’s age? He stuck it out & fought his way into the team - had the skill to do so. Up to Cole now to do the same?
Palmers 21, Foden was playing the majority of games at that age and had been for a while.

I don't think Cole is demanding anything. It can't be easy to relax when doing an interview and someone with an agenda to grab headlines and drama is asking the questions.
He is only saying he thinks it's time he played more minutes which I completely understand at his age. He has been in and around the 1st team now for 2 years.
One thing for sure though. If he plays every match like he did against Sevilla he is going nowhere. He tries to get past the last defender which as a fan I love to see.

i like him as a player but if Cancelo didn`t get guaranteed game time then neither should Cole

Think he played 28 games 20/21 & 21/22. He was about 21/22 years old. Palmer’s 20 & hopefully gets a few more games this year. But he has to work for it - like him a lot but different type of player & possibly not as naturally skilful as Phil?

I get what you’re saying, but we really shouldn’t be comparing Foden with any youngster that we have. He’s a once in a generation player who everyone knew would make it. Most young players take a while to develop

Agree totally. Just trying to temper Cole’s expectations - he can’t expect to be playing every week unless he wants to give up Pep’s coaching for a lesser team that won’t win anything. He needs to believe in his ability & fight for his place. He’s good enough.

In 20/21 and 21/22 Foden played 95 games starting 72 of them.

Palmer is 21, Foden at the same age had approx 5 times as many starts.
