Provided we don’t bring in a midfielder now Paqueta deal is off, think even if Doku still comes in Palmer could see himself get a lot of games this season if he does stay, with Bernardo and Phil playing alot of games in the middle due to light numbers there if Cole’s got the bottle reckon he could really make the right hand side his own

In 20/21 and 21/22 Foden played 95 games starting 72 of them.

Palmer is 21, Foden at the same age had approx 5 times as many starts.

Palmers 21, Foden was playing the majority of games at that age and had been for a while.

Shrek was playing PL games at 16, doesn't mean anyone 18 who hasn't won't make it. Palmer also lost time due to injury.

I'm not convinced by Palmer's desire to really want it, but it may be that he has a different style, more Mahrez than Bernardo. He's still at an age where many players are just starting to break through and he's trying to do it at the treble winners, where every game matters, not a mid or lower level PL team where they can take more chances. It's a big season for him, as if he goes elsewhere he has to.perform, but if he stays, he needs to be involved in >50% of the games, either starting or a decent sub appearance (>20 mins).

If that doesn't work, he can go to the rags where he'll still be an exciting raw product of their famous academy when he gets his first game at 34.

I’m not really sure what you mean by that or how you’ve come to that conclusion?

Surely if he didn’t want it or show the desire he wouldn’t be in the side. He’s shown plenty of desire with those 2 goals and MOTM performance recently

Totally agree but my post was in response to another which said Palmer should stick it out because Foden did and was on the bench at the same age, which isnt correct as Foden was starting and playing far more minutes at the same age.
