That's really great news mate, can you also buy your mate a pint as well !

Me and my bro were in our usual seats a few rows behind the guy when he collapsed and it didnt look good for a while, so pleased to hear he is ok. I asked the stewardess at 327 entrance at half time how he was and she said he was breathing again when he was taken from the stadium.

Full marks to the guy who initially raised the alarm and was first to look after the man, his actions no doubt played a big part in saving this guys life. Also, massive respect to St Johns and medics who worked their magic in reviving him, think they had to inject him with adreniline twice (as well as the electric cardioversion) to help get his heart going again... truely remarkable people.

Sorry, I know this isn't the point of this thread but it's here so I think its important to make sure people know you can't 'revive' someone with CPR. They need an AED (defibrillator) for that so you'll never do a few chest compressions on someone who will then cough a bit and thank you very much for your help. If anyone is ever in the situation where someone is not breathing please don't give up because they don't sit up after a few minutes and offer to buy you a pint. Compressions are vital to keep the blood pumping to the vital organs - you don't even need to do rescue breaths (mouth-to-mouth) if you really don't want to - there will be enough oxygenated blood already in the body but it must be pumped round to prevent irreparable damage within minutes.

And while I'm on the subject, don't copy chest compressions from the TV cos they don't do them hard enough or quick enough. You need to do 100 per minute (think the beat of nelly the elephant) and if you do them right you'll probably break a couple of ribs. (Don't worry about being sued, it wont happen.)

Lesson over. As you were.

Glad to hear the bloke is ok but if I was gonna go like that then a game
where we are winning would be perfect, at least I'd die doing something
I loved.

Someone said that actually, if you're going to have a heart attack, matches are the 'best' places to have one.

You've got an ambulance already there, you have fully trained people in the stadium and the response is fantastic.
