Colin Bell- What a legend

Never forgave Buchan for the rash tackle - added fuel to my hatred of the reds. Fortunately the team responded and licked the pants of the reds.

Lee did not kick him out a decision was made by Frank Clarke's management team at the time who didn't consult the chairman so Lee was in a difficult position did he back his manager or an old team mate? Bell took the club to a tribunal and i think he lost, but not sure.

no doubting his quality on the pitch, but jesus - have you read his autobiography?
a very very dull read

It is a little pedestrian, and littered with incorrect scores from games he had played in, you would have thought the researcher would have got them right.

I'am one of the lucky ones who saw lee, Bell, and sumerbee in their prime,in otherwords an old git ! colin was and remains my all time time city hero,i like your goodself have never forgiven or forgot that dirty kunt's tackle which at the end of the day had finished colin's career. My hate for that dirty filthy areshole of a club stems from that very time,up to then i was not really bothered about the fuckers, but after that tackle,i wished and still wish that every knowen disaster will befall that fucking scum.Sorry about the rant, but when i saw the thread title it brought back so many wonderful memories of the king, but i fear it also brought to the surface my complete loathing for that filthy red bastard from that filthy fucking club, shit i'am at it again ! anyway long live the KING !

Couldn't agree more. I'm a little fed up of some of the fans critisicing our hatred, especially on Derby day, but I was there when Best finished Pardoe's career as well as Colin's. And I still maintain both tackles were as deliberate as Keane's.

Quite right,and well said sir.

Right, I'm too young to have seen Bell and I know the game has changed a lot but I suspect the people saying Gerrard at his best is only 20% the player Bell was are looking through extremely nostalgic blue-tinted glasses.
