Anyone who calls Lescott shit clearly isn't a proper fan and doesn't watch us home and away.

I watch us home and away, and have done so for 45 years - so I guess my opinion counts?
Im going over the same ground, but I do feel it needs repeating:
LESCOTT is a pretty decent Premiership footballer. No more, no less. As was highlighted for England, he requires steering. His positional sense goes array WHEN he switches off (which he does every game). His basic skill level isnt the greatest either, which is why he gives it to Hart for the big hoof rather than deal with it himself - this concedes possession. He lacks pace too. But its the prevalence to making a mistake under pressure that's more damning.
Dont get me wrong, he isnt 'shit' and seems a nice fella who doesn't cause any problems - its just that he isnt world class, and we need to be looking at players who are if we are to succeed in the CL.
This also applies to; Barry & Milner.
All three have been great for us and should continue to be very useful squad players - but they all suffer from the same english national current problem - they're just not good enough!

Vinnie, Coloccini, Savic & someone like Dawson would do me. Boyata needs to stay too
What a load of shite!!!

Yes he does get it wrong positionally every game, as does Vinny, John Terry, Vidic, Thiago Silva, Hummels & every other defender in the world. No defender is ever perfect. The difference with Lescott is that there are always a squad of people like yourself ready to point out ever single mistake he makes whilst completely ignoring any similar mistakes made by others.
Lescott does more 'steering' than he receives & if you actually watch City you can see him shouting & organising the defence on almost every occasion, a defence that was the best in the country. For England it was John Terry who was caught out of position regularly, not Lescott.
He is a Champion & deserves to be.

Any chance I could have a link?LoveCity said:Back page of The Times says we're exploring the possibility of signing him and Newcastle willing to do business if there is a "sizeable offer".
