Colonoscopy have you had one.

I wish insurance companies would pay for them at 40 and above
I am 42 and had to have one as I had a random bowel blockage at the start of the year. Emergency laparotomy to clear it and send the findings off for biopsy.

By the time they got to the blockage, it had unblocked itself and they found nothing. It definitely showed on the CT scan.

I’ve had major surgery to have a bowel MOT.

I guess it’s great that I’ve not got cancer or Crohn’s disease, but it’s bizarre that they can’t find out what cause my issues.

My grandad died of bowel cancer, so anything round there is a concern to our family.

Nothing to it I had two at the MRI the first biopsy showed cancer, on repeat they couldn’t find the place it was from despite searching.
So all clear I even had a third. Nothing to it

I’ve had several endoscopies which are not pleasant. The worst example was when I had to keep the tube in for 36 hrs and go about my normal routine which was a full days work while a box recorded data from my gut. I had to keep a 15 minute diary so they could marry the data with what I was doing. The outcome was one surgeon recommending surgery while the other thought it should be left alone. I opted for no action as stomach surgery is major. I’m still here!

Had 2 in the last 2 months. Big flare with my IBD because infliximab failed after 5 years, then put on amjevita which was a total failure. Now switched to a new drug called Tofacitinib which so far is doing the job
