First of all this isn't about who is the most loyal fan on here, but more of a who does what to get to a game. Should make interesting reading for you fans based in Manchester.

I am based with the forces in Salsibury 265 miles from my house in Thirsk so one game is 265 miles to home and then 85 to COM's = 700 miles for an home game.

I have attended Barnsley away, celtic, fulham, hull, sunderland Home & Away, Utd Semi, Arsenal 'cup' Stoke, Boro 'cup', wolves, chelsea, burnley, Liverpool, WHU working out at about 10500 miles, god knows how much fuel etc.
Like I say not a case of 'I am the best' but who else takes it tothe limit

By the way Born and Bread in Stalybridge.

Who was that Irish lad on football focus a few years ago, up for some fans' award? Travelled over on his jack for nearly every game. And got Dunnie's autograph nearly every week. Bit of an eccentric but a top blue. PS, good effort, Lifer

Re: Come on then are you as loyal as this???

Why don't you just go straight from Salisbury to the match and save yourself 170 miles?

Doubt he was an attention seeker unlike the OP though.

Tell you what, you tell my 23 year old girl and 17 lad why they are not going any more, I'd rather do the extra mileage then lose my home!!

Ok but I'm warning you now, I'm not very good in situations like that. I won't break it to them gently, I'll just blurt it out.

Re: Come on then are you as loyal as this???

Nope can't compete.

lived most of my life in Scotland, and used to make the 500 mile round trip to City , but moved to Leeds 2 years ago, upgraded my Citycard to a Seasoncard..now it's a nice and easy 40 mile trip. ( to be honest I still have a smile to myself when I jump in the car, knowing that i'm only an hour away from the ground, rather than 4 hours or so..although on the flip side, I kind of miss the feeling of getting in the motor early on a Saturday knowing you were making the journey for the team!)

That said, This year I promised to treat my nephew (from Scotland) to a City game, so I headed up there on Xmas Eve, through all the snow blizzards etc had Christmas day with the family, then brought him back down on boxing day morning for the Stoke game, then took him back the next day, before returning home to Leeds a couple of days after that..knackered!

I am moving back home in June after 8 years on the road, so only 35miles above you in Thirsk, do you attend any City Supporters club in the Leeds area,

Re: Come on then are you as loyal as this???

To be honest mate I don't. Between having two young kids (both s/t holders btw) and all that entails, my wife's shift work, as well as long working hours (violins out) I do well to get to all the games, never mind the supporters clubs/social side!

There are a good few posters on here from Leeds/N Yorks, who I am sure would point you in the right direction.

I think might be one around Cattrick, will have to have a look when I get back North. Know what you mean mate trying to fit it all in, Wife wasn't to pleased going out on mothers day to 'Sunderland'

6.3 miles. It's a tough journey, don't even get me started on the traffic on Mount Road since the new Tesco was built.
