Have to agree with "Laurel and Hardy" also "Abott and Costello" and i also never tire of some "Bob Hope and Bing Crosby" routines. Comedy these days is crap.

Laurel and Hardy i remember as the first comedy i understood to exist just to make you laugh and laugh i did.
Now i have to say John Cleese and Rowan Atkinson (Fawlty Towers and Blackadder respectively), loved Bottom also.
Frankie Boyle makes me laugh hard to.
Bob Hope and Bing Crosby and Abbot and Costello complete my list.

I will go for 3 English ones
Harry Enfield - king of the catchphrase, so many funny charactors in his time, Stavros, Loads a money, Tim nice but dim, the slobs, you didnt wanna do that, the old gits... also Paul Whitehouse, great side kick to Harry and the Fast show was very good as well.
Ronnie Barker - The frost report, 2 Ronnies, Porridge, Open all hours... another charactor genius, used to write under Gerald Wiley so his sketches would be accepted for their worth not because he had written them
Rowen Atkinson - Not the 9 oclock news, blackadder, even Bean - wonderful word smith and one of the funniest faces ever.
