Commentary | Aston Villa away (pg 14)

Great coverage, Mcoist is a top bloke. Slightly tarnished right at the very end of the programme with Dixon playing down the brilliance of Pep, commenting on how he has the best players in the world to work with and he'd like to see him have a go with not so great players.

If Lee Dixon was a proper Blue, which he isn’t (and never was) then he’d have seen plenty of City managers with “not so great players” and that’s putting it nicely

100 times better than Tyler and the Rat.

At the end of the game Tyler would have said " Positives for Everton as they drew the first half"

At least if Tyler and his rat and spit and Wio keep up the false narrative about the rags and dippers there’s a good chance noddy and Me ed stay where they are

The Amazon coverage was a so much more enjoyable experience, it really underlined what we have to put up with from the other broadcasters. The most striking thing for me was the difference in Michael Owen. This raised two questions. He is normally appalling, he is boring, monotone and offers little insight, but last night he sounded different, brighter, and his analysis was better. Why that difference last night? Secondly he normally looks like he can't wait to be negative about City, but last night he was genuinely positive. Is he briefed by other broadcasters to be negative about us?

McCoist is great, I only really listen to the breakfast show when it's him and Brazil as they know how to have a laugh. The Prime coverage is on a different par to anything else. It has the feel that it is more grownup than BT and in a new age compared to Sky, which just seems the same since the 90's.
On a side, it's good to see Simon Thomas back doing what he enjoys. I have a lot of time and respect for that fella.

It was great to have a forward-thinking manager on there too in Eddie Howe. He shares some of Pep’s principles, albeit having been using vastly inferior players. He gets what we are trying to do and it was good to hear him talk about us.

Owen was also weirdly different to how has been on BT. It’s like he was told by Amazon “we don’t do partisan bollocks here mate”. Owen was genuinely enjoyable to listen to. It was a mad difference. Amazon really need to grow their football influence, I want more.
