Sounds basic stuff, but how do people submit a post highlighting a sentence or a paragraph from a previous post and then reproduce it themselves with just their comment on it? (e.g. So-and-so wrote "Blah blah blah.")

Thanks for any simple explanations, guys

click on the quote button to the right

highlight, with your mouse, the words you want to show and then use the symbols at the top ie
B i u etc
and they will be at the start and end of the words

I understood the question to be 'how to insert an individual quote' rather than the whole thing.

In which case, first drag over the piece you want to quote so it's highlighted and press ctrl+C which copies it to the clipboard. Then click on 'post a reply' and click the 'Quote' button in the top bar (4th from the right). Then press ctrl+V which will paste the contents in between the quote tags.
Don't forget to click outside the quote marks to add your own comments otherwise everything will appear within the quote.

Like so :-

Of course you can just use the 'quote' button (bottom right) and delete everything you don't want, it does exactly the same thing.

Thanks for suggestions. I shall struggle with those. Old dogs & new tricks spring to mind.
