Wembley have to make money to pay for the rebuild
They have several concerts, NFL games, shows etc at Wembley that contribute towards the refurbishment.
These have fans from all over Europe and UK attending and who may be happy to stay overnight in London.
People travelling from primarily one or two destinations within UK and want to get home the same night should be catered for with an earlier start time.
It took my sister over 4 hours to get back to Luton from Wembley a few weeks ago and thats only down the road.

They will be 25,000 Blues at Wembley and my Grandson and me will be 2 of them. The FA make pennies from the charity shield so they couldn't care FULL or not. Every season fans complaine about the FA cup semifinals being at Wembley and every year they don't listen.
Love CITY Hate FA,PREMIER LEAGUE,UEFA and of cause Rags. CTID
Doubt we would take 25k. How many did we take the other year v Leicester, last time we played CS at Wembley? Attendance was only 45k IIRC.

The game was expected to be reduced capacity until 2 weeks before, it went on sale 10 days before with 53k tickets available to the two clubs.

You needed medical records to get in too.

Fair point but I think a lot were pissed off it was Wembley again. We have had unofficial boycotts before at Wigan, Birmingham and Bolton before, hopefully an official one will make the powers that be think twice again.

A better kick off time and I would have been planning my trip there.

More than happy to support a boycott, saves me £100-£200 and tells the cunts at the FA to start respecting match going fans. Particularly fans of clubs not based in London!

I never miss an opportunity to watch City at Wembley. I suspect it will be a larger than usual attendance this year, swelled by the growing international army of Haaland fans. It is a chance to people to get to see City who can't usually see them. It's another day out in the sun.
Love going to Wembley to see City. Must have been 25 times at least now. It's just the cost that's making me think twice about this one.

How many boycotting the match will stick to it as the match gets closer?

Sorry don’t get this. This only hurts the players.
Going only hurts our wallets and the inconvenience of trekking down to London for a glorified friendly. The players aren’t the most important part of a football club, the fans are and we’re constantly getting the piss taken out of us. If it’s not the FA, it’s UEFA.

No chance, it hurts the FA's pockets and their reputation. It's not a good look for TV companies with a half empty stadium either

We need to start standing up to these authorities that constantly take the piss out of us and a boycott is the best way to do this

Ted Crocker who chamged the format from it being played at random venues and not compulsory for league wimeers amd by invitation, was known for being rubbish during his time at the FA.

time his bollocks idea of wembley as a permament venue was scrapped
Not gonna happen. The whole new Wembley debacle was based financially on 20 or maybe 30 years of all semis and finals being played therr
