Confirmed! Hughes to stay on as manager next season.

I suppose if we give him another season (or half) to get us going we could see who he goes after in summer. I hope he doesn't go for RSC, or at least keeps him as a plan B. I'd at least expect more quality and some quantity out the door. Doesn't mean I don't want him out though.

Bentley, Parker & Warnock.
Apparently they will be quite happy signing for a team that has no European interest................as long as the money is right!!!

You sound like a RAG WUM!

I have often said that the owners are not your typical English / European business men, who say one thing and mean another. There is integrity in what they say.
If they say MH is staying, then he is staying.

Can't say I'm enamoured by it, but what alternative is there ?

Fed up of hearing how we are 'not far off being like Everton or Villa' - when am I going to hear 'we are not far off winning the Premier League title' ?

Yep, I get the feeling you'll be right. He won't be able to attract any big names.

I'd say 9 years or so....that was the plan...maybe noone told you?

When will people learn that this is going to be a strategic and long drawn out process? How many times do we have to be told that there is a plan which will only be realised with patience and holding ones nerve?

IMO if we were to sack MH and go for someone like JM, we would have a flash in the pan for about 2 fantastic seasons then get dumped on from a great height and left in the cold when JM swans off to his next project.

It would help if the Hughes fanboys didn't WUM and gloat about it though. If I'm going to shut up I don't want some idiot commenting on my Anti-Hughes "loss" everytime we win. Those sort of retarded comments just makes you wanna retaliate and/or ignore the board all together.

Did you adopt the same attitude throughout the season though ? I respect anyones right to an opinion on Hughes as Ive stated elsewhere but your attitude of "I didnt get my way so dont have a go at me after Ive spent all this time slagging off the manager cos I wont like it" is possibly the most childish Ive come across and in reality undermines your credibility for me comprehensively.

So that apperas to be that.

Deeply depressing as it is I can only assume that Adug have seen something in Hughes that has persuaded them that he can do a good job here.

Reading between the lines Garry Cook seems to be suggesting the target next year is Champions League qualification.

Why do I say that. Well he says that it could be a blessing in disguise. And he can't possibly mean that not qualifying for the Europa league this year is a blessing as it will make it easier to qualify for it next year. Can he?

At the end of the day ADUG have invested heavily and it is their call.

Let's see who we get in player wise.

Big thanks to Dunnie for his work in the past but I reckon a new centre half is a must and a world class striker of the Drogba type but not Drogba.

People who want Hughes out haven't been proved wrong by this announcement.
