Conspiracy theories......

My brother in law made the same anti-vax argument, and it's just baffling. He also argues that it came out 'too quickly' to be trusted. It's as if these people are unaware that the COVID vaccine was developed on the back of hundreds of years of knowledge and research into infections and vaccines, not to mention the many more recent vaccines developed for similar viruses that provided a foundation for this one.

He's currently having his house renovated, so I tried to put it to him like this. The electricians don't need to go through school and training in order to install his lights; the carpenters aren't learning carpentry from scratch to build his closets; the decorators aren't learning about decorating in the run up to this work. They've done all that already. That's why it will take them 2 weeks to renovate, not 5 years.

The COVID-19 vaccine was the same; 90% of the work was already done through years of research and application, they just needed another year or so to refine and test this one. How people can't understand that is beyond me.
Also, for emergency situations, like a Pandemic, they take teams away from other areas of research and vaccine production to work on the emergency. Nobody works any faster than they usually do, no bugger rushes anything, they just have 1,000sX as many people and teams working on it than would usually work on a vaccine or anything else… and that’s how you can get something produced so quickly.

Sorry i can not help you with your worry people do die, but Covid deaths among the young is a tiny percentage of the annual deaths of young people , also here in Britain young people have had exposure to Covid for 18 months, it is unlikely that any have not had it, down under i do not know the time frame but rubella, whopping cough and the measles are very different fron COVID as the COVID vaccine is not a cure, it does not stop you from getting it or passing it on .
Your beleif that anti-vaxxers are anti social will be down your circumstances but it is a bit bizzare as the anti vaxxers are fighting for their rights to be sociable.
While this true, vaccinated people have many times less viral load, due to the vaccine, therefore a lot less viral shedding is emanating from vaccinated people. (A major reason I want my DIL vaccinated)
I thought this was common knowledge by now.

This from the World Health Organisation.

And the third thing that vaccines do is they reduce the transmission of the infection of the virus from one person to the next. And the way that vaccines do that is in a number of different ways. The first is they can protect you against getting infected at all. The second way that they work is if you become infected, you're actually shedding that virus for a shorter period of time than if you weren't vaccinated. And the third way that vaccines work is, again, if you happen to get infected, the amount of virus that you have in your nose, in the back of your throat that you are shedding and potentially transmitting to somebody is less of the virus. There's less density of the virus in you and so less risk that you transmit it to somebody else.

At some point that theory was right but an American law proffesor was stopped teaching because he did not have the jab while others who had the jab could work, so he took them to court, he supplied the scientific evedence that after having COVID he was less likely to transmit the virus ,and had a quicker recovery ,as his imune system worked better fighting only one invader, he won his case by the way.

Have you got a link to that?

It reduces the chances of catching it by over 90% initially you fucking lying prick. After that it still reduces the chance of a serious infection by over 97%. 99% of those dying in the US are unvaccinated despite only 63% having being vaccinated. Work it out.

I thought we’d fucked off all the anti-vax fuck ends months ago. Get fucked. I detest cunts like you. Like, I would personally ban you were I mod and fill you in if I heard your shite in a pub. Fuck off.
