I got everything from a slap to nettles across the back of the legs to a belt when I was a kid, don't think it did me any harm, without going into details I bloody earned it tbf, my parents preferred to talk to me when I was out of line.

Saying that I'm yet to raise a hand to my own (much better behaved than I was) and they'd have to push pretty damn far before I'd raise a hand to them, I'd rather talk to them and find out why they decided to do something than hit them.

OP the tantrums will pass and that kid will give you the best moments of your life.

So buy those earplugs :)
