I'm guessing this is an attempt to flush out a bid from a European club who would quite naturally prefer to wait and save themselves a million or two.

I'd be a bit annoyed at £40m, but at least that looks better than £35m. As a cash purchase goes we shouldn't be accepting less than £45m if indeed the club value him at £50m. The Brazilian transfer deadline ends in 10 days anyway, so I guess it will move fast whatever happens, I just hope we don't pussy out and accept £35m after publicly saying we won't accept less than £50m.avoidconfusion said:Pigeonho said:At the end of the day we set a £50m price tag, why would we accept £15m less just because its a non-European club, and why should we too? £45m minimum, or £40m and add ons. £35m from £50 set fee would look weak.
Because we will risk having to keep a player who does not want to be here and will be worth even less in the next window....
Because Italians can't ;)Pigeonho said:Perhaps if you looked into it you would see how. How do you know they can't, seeing as you're so amazed at those who think they can?Mancio said:its amazing how people can believe that a brasilian club could pay some figures. amazing.
