Coronation of King Charles 3rd

I wonder what schools the choir boys went to? I’m not a betting man, but I would throw a couple of shillings that institutions such as Eton, Harrow, Winchester, Westminster, Rugby, Shrewsbury, Charterhouse and maybe Gordonstone in Scotland, to appease the Hooray Hamish’s and where Charlie went, all were represented.

£3,600 may not be much to their parents, but a single parent with a gifted singer child, would need to work 450 hours at minimum wage to make that.

But, we are all in it together. I nearly forgot.

The keyword there is realms where Charles is head of state. That is not all the members

56 independent countries make up the Commonwealth in Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe and the Pacific
he said the other 14 Commonwealth realms. which of those is he not the king of?
serious question by the way as I really don’t know. I actually just had to use google to see if he was the king of Canada.

You have to say, given they can doubtless afford it, that’s an incredible investment for their kids That’s an experience none of them will ever forget. An amazing, ridiculous thing to bear witness to, especially at such close quarters. The sights and sounds will never leave them.

Think the monarchy is on borrowed time, and that I think we’d probably be better off without the institution, but it was still a fascinating spectacle, so full of history and must have been incredible to attend.

Perfectly plausible that it could be the last one.

And those fucking screens!

Didn't watch any of it, so not sure what you mean.

It was an amazing, visually and aurally. As an experience I mean. Like a ridiculously lavish play.

Thought I would find it so, and I did. Think others are entitled to be indifferent or even inimical, and with some justification, but I really enjoyed the experience of watching it, and drinking it in.

Lost both my two elder siblings in the last few years, both born in the fifties, and they never got to see a coronation. Brought it home what a rare, historical event it was. Abd maybe the only one I will ever see.

Glad I got to watch it live, even though I am ambivalent about the event and the associated institution

The original post said if you live in the commonwealth then he is your King. That is not true because not all members of the commonwealth are commonwealth realms. Only those 14 of a total 56
This is what he said and you said it wasn’t true.

“He quite literally is your King, if you’re from Great Britain, Northern Ireland or the fourteen other Commonwealth realms”.
