Dads been transferred to ICU this morning. They’re putting him to sleep and using a ventilator. Can’t cope with much more at the moment, need the old man to recover and get home
That’s awful news, TINY, please stay strong, thoughts are with you.

Scotland vaccinations:

1, 661, 879 first doses given - 27, 518 today - was 22. 783 yesterday & 22. 836 last week

92, 550 second doses given - 8105 today - was 5580 yesterday & 6918 last week

England hospital deaths by age:

Over 80s lower than 60 - 79 again today - just.

20 - 39 (2) 1.0%

40 - 59 (14) 6.9%

60 - 79 (95) 46.5%

80 PLUS (93) 45.6%

Whilst true the overall over 60s percentage is higher than of late.

And on these lower and lower numbers variations like these will occur.

So limited value.

England hospital deaths by region:

46 Midlands, 39 NE & Yorks, 28 North West, 25 East, 25 South East, 22 London, 19 South West

Leeds 16 and Mid Essex 11 only double figure trusts today.

St Helens on 4 most in NW.

England hospital deaths wk to wk:

972 / 138 NW / 13%

707 / 104 NW / 14%

664 / 89 NW / 15%

522 / 104 NW / 20%

302 / 36 NW / 12%

204 / 28 NW / 14% Today

Massive fall across 5 weeks.

Northern Ireland data:

First not totally good news in a while. Though most of it is.

4 deaths - was 2 last week (though 2 were old deaths discovered and added today).

226 cases - was 260 last week

11.4% positivity - was 14.5% last week

Weekly cases total 1419 - was 1440 yesterday - down from 1884 last week

23 Care Home outbreaks - down from 25 yesterday and 38 last week.

307 patient - up 18 in the day - first rise in a while anywhere outside Mondays. Was 356 last week

29 ventilated - down 1 on yesterday - was 35 last week.

I see Ontario in Canada is rejecting the new data studies on the AZ vaccine and refusing to sanction it to over 65s. Because it is 'less effective in their view'. When the data says the opposite.

That original message has created problems everywhere that look like still being hard to break down. In India they are still not using it either and opting for their own vaccine that seems to have had little positive attention elsewhere.

I was hoping we were over these vaccine wars but it seems not.

We really have to get to the point where nobody asked who makes the vaccine. Like we have with virtually every other vaccine in history. It is THE jab. You get it. That's all. Not an economic battle of big pharma protecting its own.

Viewing perhaps the most important vaccination programme in global history as a commercial competition is going to cost many lives needlessly.

This is the kind of story our journalists should be chasing.
Feels like the world has seen its arse that a company from little old Great Britain has come up with a vaccine that they aren’t producing for profit. Countries are even ignoring the new data on over65s that Oxford/Astra brought out last week (was it last week? might be longer now).

So total deaths with England out of hospital to come (often high on a Wednesday with weekend carch up but also far less than they were via places like care homes). 255.

Wk to wk:-

1130 v 818 v 739 v 622 v 364 v 255 Today

F*ck them with all due respect.
