Was in Tameside Hospital, was 60 and had high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
So sorry to hear that, I have those two as well as a couple of other conditions but I got through Covid reasonably in tact. I feel very lucky. Must be very difficult for you and your partner, wishing you all the best.

Let's just remember that Covid-19 most often kills via blood clots. Some where between 60% and 75% I believe.
This is most likely politics and AZ not delivering quantities expected.
The UK expected such things so ordered 3.5 times the number of doses than required. Contrast with the EU who only provisioned about 1.5 times the number required.
Never knew that.
Throughout the last couple of months i was worried about developing a blood clot. The constant coughing had me a tad concerned (and still does).

Hospital data:

Sunday data means little usually changes though not a good day for the North West even so. Manages to go back above 1000 in hospital. When falls are more common on Sunday and rises on Mondays Other areas do fall a bit.

UK total:

Patients 7291 - it was 39, 248 at the peak on 18 Jan - (fall of 31, 957 in 55 days) :- lowest since 18 October

Ventilators 1052 - it was 4077 at the peak on 24 Jan - (fall of 3025 in 49 days) : lowest since 1 November

England only:-

ADMISSIONS:-

386 Covid admissions (12 March) - following 449, 494 and 483 days before. 386 is lowest in many weeks.

PATIENTS:-

down 33 in day to 6039 v 7812 last week :- lowest since 19 October.

Peak was 34, 336 on 18 Jan (fall 28, 297 in 55 days)

Ventilators: Down in day 37 to 963 v 1273 last week :- lowest since 9 November

Peak was 3736 on 24 Jan (fall 2773 in 49 days)

Regions:

Patient // Ventilators // change in past 24 hours and v last week

East down 13 to 562 v 756 // down 3 to 91 v 107

London down 9 to 1181 v 1562 // stays at 308 v 393

Midlands down 32 to 1324 v 1766 // down 11 to 210 v 277

NE & Yorks down 10 to 993 v 1248// down 9 to 122 v 176

North West UP 16 to 1002 v 1211// down 6 to 119 v 149

South East UP 9 to 742 v 972 // down 5 to 83 v 129

South West UP 6 to 235 v 297 // down 3 to 30 v 42

All in all not a terrible day though after slower falls last week a few small rises in patients - though the fall in ventilators took England below 1000 which was good to see.

Usually on Monday small rises occur - patients went up by 35 last week.

What we see tomorrow and into next week will be very telling.
