If so well done to you , here in oz we only need one community case and we lockdown immediately in every state bar NSW who have a far more measured response to covid transmisison.

the health bureaucrats who have little or no epidemiological credibility but the new found pop star status being on the big screen every morning tell the premier to lock down and they fall in line. like the sheep they are.

When asked why instead of saying our contract tracing is sub standard still after 12 months despite the low numbers they tow the political line that got them re elected that we have to keep our state safe whatever that means.

So what happens over there? Just one case and immediate lockdown? And how’s the vaccination programme going.?

I think if it's a choice for the next 6-12 months of having vaccine/anitbody/neg test passports to get in crowded places but no masks, social distancing etc then surely everyone would take that.

Even if everything opens up, the alternative of table service, distancing from your mates, part full crowds etc isn't normal life

They've just admitted in the last few days that track and trace is largely a failure so I doubt it'll do much good anyway.

And I wouldn't worry too much because it's hardly a bulletproof system, writing 'your' details on a scrap of paper.

Can you imagine being one of those actually called Michael Mouse. There really are a few out there. Going to be no cartoon for them.

How does that work for someone without a driving license or passport then? I've never heard of anyone asking for someone's ID in a pub outside of age reasons.

Any of our in the know science experts whose knowledge I trust in here able to comment on todays news of the 30 cases of blood clots in the UK from AZ vaccine versus none at all from Pfizer.

The number of doses given are pretty similar up to quite recently and if that story on BBC news just now is true then that disparity - tiny as it is - would concern me as to a real issue potentially. Out of proportion as it might well have been taken.

I find the BBC claim of 30 versus zero rather hard to just accept as with 15 million plus or so doses of Pfizer given - the two are not that far apart in UK use - then it would be pretty amazing if there were zero cases by chance alone.
