Can you imagine being one of those actually called Michael Mouse. There really are a few out there. Going to be no cartoon for them.

You'd have to be goofy to put an obviously fake name, you're asking for trouble.

Some people don't give a donald duck though.

are we just going to be surveilled wherever we go now? Can't even go to the pub without movements being tracked.

Whatever happened to freedom and democracy. It's either safe to open up or it isn't. Anything else is a con.
People just don’t see it. Even if you think it’s perfectly reasonable under these circumstances it sets a precedent. Case law if you like. Just because we are already surveilled beyond belief, that’s not a reason to go further.

For my own personal reasons I have chosen to have the vaccine. But the thought of that entitling me to a passport which allows me to get into The Etihad when other blues cannot because they have exercised their own choice makes me sick to the pit of my stomach. If the vaccine works then it really shouldn’t matter whether the guy sat next to me is vaccinated or not. It’s divisive nonsense.

So what happens over there? Just one case and immediate lockdown? And how’s the vaccination programme going.?
Pretty much artful , a lot of politics at play if the covid case is in the community as I have mentioned before its immediate lockdown bar NSW who have a much more measured response and much more faith in their contract tracing.

Premiers saying that have to " save lives " which they don't as opposed to providing efficient and effective health services that the public can access.

Little surprise that NSW are taking the vast majority of the ex pats and citizens wishing to return.

Vacc program has been slow around 700k vaccinated with one shot in a population of 25 million.

Federal Government and the States having public spats rather than getting on with the program.

With so little community spread not one person in the Country in ICU there has been a complacency notwithstanding the EU reneging on the supply.

The EU held back the 3 million we were going to use in the first phase so the local production from Melbourne has to be ramped up.

But typical of bureaucrats they are vaccinating administrators before frontline health workers if you can believe that and we all know every state bar one will lockdown with a hard lockdown as soon as one person in the community tests positive.

We had a situation this week where in QLD a doctor treating covid patients wasn't vaccinated and bingo a lockdown for 3 days.

People in public service jobs are not effected they still get paid in many cases for staying at home and doing nothing ( some would argue business as usual in doing nothing 0f course ) , while small business , sole traders , tourism , entertainment , arts and the lists goes on are frozen with no income at all unless they apply for welfare.

For many of these business and livelihoods for a week is the as bad as a month and the bureaucrats no this but the power they wield is addictive and toxic.

Fancy if London has to be locked down every time a single case was diagnosed after you come out of this lockdown.

i suppose the premiers of each state and more so the health bureaucrats who have no background in infection control and pandemics have to pick a pocket or 10 million artful.

Zoe App today 64, 574 predicted UK symptomatic cases.

Predicted cases new today 3805.

North West lowest rates in the whole UK - range 14 - 80 per million.

Midlands now most infected region in England having risen above NE & Yorkshire which has steadily fallen in recent days. And is now also behind London - which has risen quite a bit lately.

It has yet to update today. So this is really from yesterday.

Btw Wales are not posting any data today or Easter Sunday and on Monday and Tuesday will post 48 hours worth of data to catch up. Not sure what we will get tomorrow. Just what we should have had today I assume.

England and Scotland are updating daily as usual over the weekend.

N Ireland is doing so on each day other than Easter Sunday.

But it may be Tuesday before we see any more testing information. Not that it is really worth seeing as it is all over the place and up and down by huge amounts.

Zoe just updated:

Suspect Easter might be impacting this too as huge falls reported - which may mean fewer cases or fewer taking part because it is Easter.

Cases down 420 to 3305 - least in many many months.

Northern Ireland going from near top to best in UK in one day - better than North West - is sure evidence not to take this data literally this weekend.

Similar gigantic fall in ongoing case numbers - falling 2737 in one day to 61, 837. It has been falling by a few hundred a day.

I would not take any of this data very seriously this weekend. Has to be impacted in some way by the holiday.

Of course, if not and born out by actual data it is replicating what happened in Israel and we might be around the point in the vaccine programme as they were when their numbers suddenly fell in a big way.

Hard to know if we would replicate that - different countries in many ways. But not impossible. Though wait and see if it carries on after Easter weekend.

Finally booked my first jab in Wales... I'm 57 and friends who are younger got theirs in England well over a month ago but it could be worse... I could be living in France
Where in Wales are you located?

Here in NE Wales I had my first jab exactly 2 weeks ago. I am nearly the age as you BTW, just 1 year younger. My wife is 54 and had her jab the day after me.
