Notes: Manchester on another great day and best in GM entered the 17K club today as the third GM member one day after Salford dud much the same. Cruel irony that happens so often. Now twice in 24 hours! Salford now 325 behind Oldham which has the highest POP score across the pandemic. But one of the best numbers in GM again today.

Stockport had a less great day today - the only one in GM NOT to fall week to week. But still gained 8 more points back from Trafford and increase its lead as the lowest POP score across the pandemic to now be 346. And these two have been close to top of the cases for past weeks. Not a coincidence.

Manchester is two or three weeks away from becoming the first GM borough to clock up 100,000 cases across the pandemic, And hopefully the last as nobody else is anywhere near doing so inevitably as Manchester is easily the biggest borough.

NB THIS IS THE SMALLEST SPREAD TOP TO BOTTOM OF HIGHEST TO LOWEST DAILY CASES (JUST 97) IN WEEKS

ENGLAND REGIONS TODAY V LAST WEEK

AS SUSPECTED THERE ARE SOME HUGE DROPS ACROSS THE BOARD TODAY BUT ESPECIALLY IN THE RECENTLY VERY HIGH SCORING SOUTHERN REGIONS LEADING TO THE BIG UK DROP TODAY

EAST DOWN 1735 TO 3618 V 4110 - DOWN 492 IN WEEK - possibly the biggest ever daily drop here

LONDON DOWN 1156 TO 3279 V 3448 - DOWN 169 IN WEEK - Another big drop

SOUTH EAST DOWN 1115 TO 6250 V 6867 - DOWN 617 STILL THE HIGHEST REGION WAY OVER THE NORTH WEST BUT ANOTHER OVER 1000 FALL TODAY

SOUTH WEST DOWN 1299 TO 4832 V 6751 - DOWN 1919 IN WEEK - ANOTHER SOUTHERN REGION STILL ABOVE THE NORTH WEST TODAY BUT WITH THE BIGGEST DROP AF ALL

AS I SUSPECTED THE FOUR SOUTHERN REGIONS TODAY BETWEEN THEM ACCOUNT FOR 5305 OF THE DAY TO DAY DROP IN CASES IN ENGLAND. THAT IS A PRETTY BIG CHUNK OF IT. THOUGH THE FLLS DID OCCUR ELSEWHERE TOO THE SOUTH HAD THE FURTHEST TO FALL

EAST MIDLANDS DOWN 1084 TO 2558 V 3382 - DOWN 824 IN WEEK - BIG DROP HERE TOO

WEST MIDLANDS DOWN 862 TO 2836 V 3864 - DOWN 1028 IN WEEK - AND ANOTHER

NORTH EAST DOWN 743 TO 1610 V 1562 - UP 48 IN WEEK

YORKSHIRE DOWN 509 TO 3025 V 3759 - DOWN 734 IN WEEK

AND

NORTH WEST DOWN 781 TO 3778 V 4260 - DOWN 482 IN WEEK

AS YOU SEE THE NORTHERN REGIONS FALLING TOO BUT NOT QUITE AS MUCH - AS USUALLY THEY WERE ALREADY LOWER THAN THE EXCEPTIONAL BIG NUMBERS THE SOUTH HAVE BEEN POSTING

GREATER MANCHESTER 1202 - A FALL OF 487 OF THE NORTH WEST FALL OF 781 - WHICH IS WELL OVER HALF - PERCENTAGE OF NORTH WEST TOTAL:- 31.8% - ONE OF THE LOWEST IN SOME TIME

YESTERDAY WAS 37% so big drop

LAST WEEK GM 1446 - SO A WEEKLY FALL OF 244 OF THE 482 WEEK TO WEEK IN NW - AGAIN OVER PAR - ALWAYS FGOOD FOR ANY FALL

GM PERCENTAGE OF NW TOTAL OF 4260 :- 33,9% (WAS AN ALREADY GOOD 34.8% YESTERDAY WEEK TO WEEK)

SO GM DOING EXTREMELY WELL AND VERSUS THE REGION FALLING MORE THAN ITS EXPECTED SHARE OVER PAST DAYS

GM boroughs weekly past 7 day case totals:

Oldham 758, Bury 762, Salford 849, Bolton 857, Rochdale 1072, Tameside 1096, Wigan 1370, Trafford 1420, Stockport 1573, Manchester 1777

More changes as everyone fell - other than Stockport who at least only went up by 1.Very close now for lowest score between Oldham and Bury and Salford's progress brings it under 100 off top and ahead of Bolton. Also under 100 away from top. These four are clear of the rest.

Trafford gained good ground on Stockport. Now 153 below it. Manchester's lead over Stockport fell a lot too and is now just 204 (down 62 today).

GM WEEKLY POP SCORES

Remember low scores good - going down good - high scores bad - going up bad

BOROUGH // POP SCORE TODAY // POP SCORE LAST WEEK // UP OR DOWN BY LAST 7 DAYS

TAMESIDE 483 // 474 // UP 11 WAS 447 (UP 36)

STOCKPORT 534 // 566 // DOWN 32 WAS 490 (UP 44)

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A WHILE EVERY BOROUGH FELL TODAY. EVEN STOCKPORT WAS DOWN 1.

Trafford now only 64 ahead of Stockport.

Stockport,Trafford, Oldham and Salford still falling week to week!

Bolton still top - amd fell below the 300 barrier again.

Trafford now below 600 too meaning the soread of boroughs is narrowing.

And the top to bottom number is down to 301.

I had it 6-7 weeks ago, unjabbed. Not the worst illness I've experienced - sore throat for a couple of days, headache & tinnitus for a couple more and weariness for a few more. Everything 100% after about 10 days apart from my nose which is still underperforming... but that just means I don't need to shower.

Maybe just ignorant people presuming themselves superior with no basis in fact, like all other forms of discrimination.
That one is easy.
you can't trust someone who says they've had Covid - especially amtivaxers. Most would happily give it to their granny without batting an eyelid.
Also, antibody tests aren't sensitive enough to tell you how strong you antibody reaction is or indeed against which variant of Covid you got it. Antibody level tests tests actually cost a small fortune and are used very sparingly.
Only PCR tests and vaccine jabs give point in time evidence to measure immunity strength against.
For example, catching the initial Covid only reduces your chance of death and hospitalisation to some unknown degree.
Defeating Covid is after all about science - not that antivaxers give a shit about that.

It's being widely reported this morning that the government is working off modelling that shows cases declining rapidly in November onwards and hopefully being around the 5k mark in December.

Currently cases are being driven by children and the modelling suggests that Covid is moving towards 'endemic equilibrium' whereby it circulates at a low level permanently. This is about as good as it gets as it won't be possible to entirely eliminate it anywhere for many years to come (if ever).

HEADLINES TODAY

Good day for GM and North West with the possible exception of Stockport - though not a bad day here either - just like Zoe shows inching very slowly downwad so slightly disappoints again by being top scorer above Manchester (admittedly by just 1 case) and the only one of the ten NOT down well week to week.

And even with that gained another 8 overall Pop Score points back on Trafford.

Otherwise with a top score in GM of just 172 this is the lowest 'high' here in weeks.

Four boroughs under 100 again too. With Bury best on 75.

Both GM and North West fall well day to day and week to week.
I wouldn't read to much into that we all know that people move around a lot an it only takes one person from a hotspot (like me and Ric Tuner who live in one right now) to go somewhere not knowing we have the virus and it starts spreading. You always have to look at the bigger picture in all this.
When you have Amazon delivery drivers pissing in bottles because they don't get paid for toilet breaks or being off when they contact Covid?

Not had the vaccine and don't plan to have it either. I'm not anti-vax, I just don't think it's necessary for me. I have worked since day one of lockdown, usually six days a week, 10 hours a day in a job where I come into close contact with approximately 30 to 50 random strangers a day. I have never worn a mask and have never washed my hands. I've never been ill and my family have all been fine.

It's over.
