They are only vaccinating over-18s, having said that you haven't catered for all the 2nd doses. I can't imagine they'd get 500K 1st doses a day.

we nearly did today. You are right about the second dose my mistake but even so we will soon have a huge weapon against it!

No. It isn't.

We *chose* to leave most of the country in tier 2/3 over Christmas despite govt saying it would not contain the virus.

Thousands have died as a direct result.

That's entirely down to govt policy. Nothing else.

Well, as much as I agree and think it was due to government policy that the country was left in tiers and Xmas was a bit loosey goosey.
I also think that most people thought the same. Most of those people however thought that but then chose to go out anyway because the goverment “didn’t tell them they couldn’t”.

We as a nation, only have ourselves to blame.
Never did I realise what sheep people were - everyone knew Xmas was going to cause issues in January but loads of people went out anyway (i didn’t). Those same people now want to blame policy for allowing them!!! Wtf!

goverment policy never told people not to put their hand in the fire - do we blame the government when you do it anyway and burn your hand (I don’t mean you personally and I’m just generalising)

70 million population less 16 million (conservative numbers) - 54 million. At 500k vaccination a day tells me in 100 days everyone’s covered? Surely we have to be quite close to normal by then?

Am I missing something?

Second doses will take some of those people out a bit, and need to add 20 days for vaccine to take effect, but yes, there is much hope if we can sustain this rate.

They can spread it amongst themselves once the rest have been vaccinated. It wont really matter?

A lot of NHS back room staff seem to be getting the jabs (based on what I’ve seen on social media). It’s a bit of piss take.

It’s crazy I goto care homes and not once been tested , I’m careful keep distance on line shopping etc

but some of the younger workers don’t care my boss won’t even furlong us if we test positive , but the nursery where my toddler goes staff once a week

this is not boris fault I personally think it’s shocking not been tested before going into a care home
