Went into town today to donate Platelets and Plasma was busier than I thought it would have been. It was lunchtime though.

Found out Manchester City Council have taken over ownership of the Arndale car park and will not be vaildating donors car park tickets like the NCP used to do. Doesn't seem very clever as some people may not be able to afford the parking charges and are not likely to want to use public transport at the minute, this is during a drive for post Covid plasma donations.

I don't doubt it will probably need a booster whether that's annual or less often who knows. The question is will it be a single dose, I'd expect so, the other question is will it be given to everyone or just those that get the flu one and can it be given at the same time.
All things to be researched I guess.

England hospital data - past 24 hours

Mostly good news happily

Patients up 31 to 32, 938 - was 34, 336 last Monday, So a fall of 1398 in week.

Ventilators down 42 to 3694 - was 3570 last Monday So a rise but the numbers have flattened off considerably and now started to fall in past days.

Was baffled to see Nick Hancock talk about ventilators as if they were rising, but they generally are not right now, and saying we did nearly half a million vaccinations when you had to listen carefully to know he did not mean today.

Why do you think vaccines and measures will start again in October, new variants? Surely we can’t just keep going in a loop of lockdowns every winter.

Why do you think vaccines and measures will start again in October, new variants? Surely we can’t just keep going in a loop of lockdowns every winter.

The 491, 170 was a little disingenuously cited by Hancock as that was indeed true for UK first doses on Saturday.

He failed to say how much it fell yesterday.

Which was rather misleading.

Yes there may well have been weather related reasons but a lot of people will think he meant today not two days ago.

He wanted to make a point I understand that. And it is good news. But lets see if they are up there again tomorrow which hopefully they will be.

No I’m not unfortunately.
Certainly on the mend slightly but otherwise physically useless. Managed a five min balcony walk and was out of breath. Showered die the first time in a week (didn’t need to and felt like too much of a struggle).
Washed all my ‘ill clothes’ & bedding in the hope that would make me feel better.
Still feel it in my lungs but yep...that lethargy is incredible.
Depression kicked in now. I’m someone who has absolutely has to get out & about daily on a big walk or run. I’ve been isolated for two weeks now & physically no chance of doing that (shortness of breath & extreme tiredness).

Not sure what else I can do to exorcise the bastard from within...

Good to hear you are on the mend. That is the start. It may be a while before you are fully recovered. Don't rush things. Take it easy.

And remember this. You were fit. You could run half marathons. You will do so again. And because you were fit once then it will be easier for you to become fit again. You have the mental and physical reserves. You will be back.
