It’s accrued just as normal. Although I know there were a few raised eyebrows when some companies opened last summer to find their staff immediately asked for 3 weeks off!
You can be asked to take some time as holiday. They just have to pay the 20% extra to top you up to full pay for that time.

no, thats whats pissing some people off at work , they have had to take holidays for days off, the furlough lads(me included from time to time) have had months off and can save all our holidays :), some lads have been off nearly a year and they still get their holiday entitlement.
Yeah dosen't seem fair but I suppose the unions would kick off.

It used to annoy me when pregnant ladies & long term sickness staff came back and had leave to burn while their jobs had been carried for 6/12 months.

Companies have been telling furloughed staff that they have to take holiday whilst on furlough which is legal. People who have been on furlough for 9 months who then ask for a fortnight off are taking the piss.

That’s not what is being discussed.

what is being discussed is the proposition that even when cases have subsided in the summer (and ergo less 50-65s filling up beds) we should carry on with lockdown right the way through.

ridiculous.

at the rate we’re going, over 50s should be done by autumn.
All over 50's should be done by April / May with first doses if they can vaccinate 2.5m per week

When will all the over 50s be vaccinated by? If that is not until the summer, then there is your answer, no?

All back to work tomorrow thank god on the Isle of Man! Been Covid free again for 16 days after a full lockdown since the 6th January over 6 positive cases! Pubs , restaurants, gyms, shops etc all open as normal again with no masks etc :-)
Still no sign of you being allowed to leave the Isle for the UK though ?

My mate lives in Douglas, really missing his trips round Salford boozers and Lancastrian cricket out grounds. Pubs on the Man some of the best in the world though.

That's heartening, I'm 61 this week, so maybe I'll be called by April, something to look forward to instead of all the misery.
I'm 66 so two groups above you & I'm expecting to receive an appointment in the next couple of weeks and I'm very confident I'll get my first dose before the end of the month. The next group after 65-70 is all adults under the ages of groups done already who have existing conditions that put them at risk. Then it is 60-65 year olds. You will be done quite a bit quicker than you expect.

no mate, all borders still closed unless for extreme medical emergency and even TT races been cancelled already!
