Right on cue, niece we went to theatre with yesterday tests positive today.

If we'd followed the rest of the developed world, she'd have been vaccinated already, as would the rest of her school.

Thread from Prof. of paediatric infectious diseases follows on why those of us with kids should support their vaccination.

We are only giving single dose to U16’s I believe, to reduce the risk of Myocarditis, so we are definitely following a different path everywhere else is doing 2 aren’t they?

edit: hope she’s alright asap

SCOTLAND DATA

NB: Still more tech issues. NHS Grampian have not been able to report their numbers for past 2 days. So this will be impacting totals. Which nonetheless look OK today.

0 deaths - was 0 last Monday - almost always is due to registrar closures on Sunday.

2917 cases - was 4241 last week - even with the Grampian issue that looks like a fall

10.8% positivity - was 11.3% last week- so up on yesterday but down on last week which makes sense

1088 patients - up 14 on yesterday - was 1048 last week - This rise of 40 has been coming down every day for the past week - yesterday the wk to wk rise was 55 and last Monday the wk to wk rise was 277

NORTHERN IRELAND DATA

CONTINUES TO BE GOOD HERE

5 deaths - was 8 last week

1020 cases - was 1199 last week

5.1% positivity - was 5.6% last week

8277 weekly cases total - was 8662 last report (Friday) & was 10, 180 last week

107 CARE HOME outbreaks - was 108 on Friday & 120 last week

379 patients - down 40 since Friday - was 401 last week

27 ventilated - down 4 since Friday - was 32 last week

THESE NUMBERS ARE ALL LOOKING PROMISING HERE STILL

So the total deaths today with out of hospital England to come is:- 47

This time last week it was 45.

Later that 45 became 61 after all settings England were added.

England added 32 of those with the other 29 from Wales and N Ireland
