Two weeks ago, there were three walk in clinics accessible to me offering booster jabs. They have just shut two of them. WTF?

Yeah I thought it was a bit odd, while they are looking at expanding the program massively I think they have taken a step back to prep.

It happened to me a couple of weeks ago, they stopped boosters in Timperley so I had to go to the Etihad.

Yep - 3 Pfizer
1st - Aches and pains everywhere.
2nd - Cold like stuffed up feeling.
3rd - No symptoms whatsoever.

Flu Jab (last weekend) weeping facial sores around some hair folicals and itchiness

I could not tell if I had a reaction to the first. I went out a drank a few beers. Had an headache next day. Could have been a beer and/or vaccine :)

Second one, I had a hot head. Took two Panadol. No issue 30 mins later.

Felt achey after the flu jab, although possible that it contributed to the Bell's Palsy as my immune system would have been in overload. Not sure though.

I guess you had no issues in getting the third. You just asked for it at the vaccination centre?

Surprisingly good news from England hospitals today.

Patients fell by 294 in the last 24 hours to just 5829 and ventilated patients by 33 to 773.

Biggest daily drop in some time. Last Wednesday it fell by 195.

North East and Yorkshire had the biggest drop - 122.

North West fell from 838 to 802.

Early indications suggest most Omicron coronavirus cases are mild, an official at the World Health Organisation (WHO) has said.

An official, speaking on behalf of the organisation, said there is no evidence to suggest the efficacy of vaccines has been reduced by the new strain - but did say some mutations of the virus indicate an increased risk of quicker transmission.

Video of the quotes.

"We have seen reports of cases that go from Mild to severe, there is some indication that some patients are presenting with mild, but again, its early days."

Are not most cases with every variant mild and some of them (usually due to underlying issues such as health conditions and/or age - or vaccination status) then become severe? What is suggesting this is different in Omicron?

Thats the way I see it, a few mild reports cant really be considered as proof this is a more mild variant. need a lot more data before we will know for sure.

The WHO are doing a confrence now ( where the clip is from )

My 6 months was up on November 8th. Hadn't received a text from the NHS so booked at a vaccination centre 7 miles away in Langley (near West Brom) run by a local chemist chain. Very quick, very efficient they were doing 300-500 jabs a day.

Booster booked for end of December which will be 6 months..I await the call from the NHS to get me in sooner?

They are changing the gap to 3 months to get jabs into arms before Omnicron takes over but they haven't announced the dare when this comes into force yet.

They’re still going to go down the age cohorts like they did at the start so older will be invited first. There’s no possibility of a 30 year old getting a booster at 3 months, unless they’ve not had any doses yet!

The Government announced then published it yesterday all over 18s to be offered the booster by the end of Jan 2022.

However for booking they haven't changed the criteria yet. Also seems very tight so "offered" may not be what people expect.

If under 40's only get offered the booster by end of Jan 2022 then I'll get mine nearly a whole year after my first jab (had my first in Feb, second in April). Jan will be around 9 months from my second jab...

I spoke to the NHS about this as most people my age had their vaccines 3-4 months later so their protection will be higher but I'm still not eligible.

Big jump up today

171 all settings deaths - was 149 last week

England 141 V 129 last week

That seems to be 39 out of hospital as hospital was 102. 39 is pretty high and may support the earlier post about deaths not in hospital.

Scotland wasalso up week to week from 9 to 19. The other two nations were the same as last week.

Unfortunately cases also well up today. 48,374 - up 4696 on last Wednesday.

England was the main reason up 7929 on the day and 5008 week to week
