I like yourself lose motivation when being cooped up in the house. However, push yourself past that and force yourself to be more productive.

I've got a list of little jobs to do whilst I remain in isolation including:

Deep clean the carpets
Clean up yard and karcher patio
Remove and replace silicone around shower tray
Wrap Christmas presents

Not done any as yet though, just sat on sofa listening to 6 music with a brew. :)

I am however going to get my cook on over the weekend. I find cooking is brilliant when looking for something enjoyable and productive whilst cooped up in the house. That and just generally annoying my missus while she works.
Fucking hell, I said keep myself occupied not make the wife redundant

Sorry, I'm an idiot myself but if I've summarised correctly the thread is less to do with vaccines themselves and more to do with the variant.

Lots of reports in South Africa of not many hospital admissions and that this Omacron wave is different and may be milder.

Unfortunately the early data from London is that the hospital admissions are matching case numbers in the same way they have previously done with Delta etc, so basically contradicting what's coming out of South Africa for whichever reason. Emphasise that it's early days and a few more days data may provide a clearer picture.
Oh shite. Well let’s hope it’s just those who are in hospital with it rather than because of it.

Chris Whitty has cracked and flies in with a two footed retaliation tackle on covidiot talking points from Tory backbenchers.

Full respect to the man.

If this thing spreads as much as we think it does (and I think we all accept it does) then under our current methodology for recording covid hospitalisations then it’s inevitable there will be a proportional increase in hospitalisations. Even if the virus was harmless, if 100% of people have it then EVERY hospitalisation will be recorded as covid.

I don’t have an answer as to how to see through the fog…perhaps people actually ‘in’ hospital is a more useful metric?

The same applies for deaths and so the more widespread the virus is the less useful our stats become unless they truly differentiate between ‘from’ and ‘with’ covid.

Wales are going back to some restrictions from midnight on Friday. As I understand it, pubs back to rule of 6 at a table and masks around the place, no more than two households together for Christmas, gyms open with limited capacity, nightclubs shut, festive stuff like winter wonderland type stuff may have to shut but undecided on that yet and sporting events with more than 500 capacity behind closed doors only also being seriously considered

Don't worry I've popped my cherry.

It's that creep in charge of Facebook I'm worried about after my booster this morning.
When they play 'money for nothing' , you'll feel the urge to transfer all your funds to Mr Branson. Just hope they don't play any simply red. God knows what could happen.

As everyone else is doing it - quick summary in one post today.

Cases in Scotland nearly doubled week to week again to 5951 (up 800 on yesterday). Northern Ireland up around 25% on week to 2237. Wales up nearly 600 to 2889. Deaths up in Scotand and N Ireland but down in Wales.

England hospital deaths well down and under 100 at 96 but 22 of those are in the North West. The most.

UK deaths so far today 120 V 140 last Thursday.

The past 7 days hospital deaths total in England is down on the last two weeks again.

As for patients the two that have reported today - Scotland and Northern Ireland - are both down in patient numbers (total from 859 to 840) and in ventilated patients (total from 65 to 59).

Full details on the other thread.
