I’m not a smoker but smokers pay a fortune into the system through tax on cigarettes. Drinkers too but to a lesser extent. Obese people have also been refused certain treatments unless they lose weight. Not only that, obesity isn’t infectious and neither is alcoholism or being a lead-swinging lazy twat. Granted, people can get ill through passive smoking but aside from that your comparisons are worlds apart.

I would not bet on that. See earlier. It was but London flattened yesterday and down today. Greater Manchester shot through the roof the last 48 hours. The media will of course notice somewhat later as it is not down south.

Though I doubt they will dare impose local lockdowns as this is arriving everywhere soon enough.

Any restrictions will be all or nothing.

No wonder people are waiting, if the booster gives permanent immunity for years then people can then always top up when it's proven. Pre-any vaccines me. my wife and daughter all got Covid 19 - 3 jabs and since then not even a sniffle - plus we have mixed more than when we were cautious and still got the fucker. I have every confidence in its efficacy - I also have an annual flu jab - I don't dismiss it because well I had one last year but it seems to have worn off so whats the point? The point is I don't get flu either.

People aren't waiting. There are two sides to this. People who want to protect themselves and others and the mongs who listen to the likes of Piers Corbyn and Steve Baker - jabs and passports are not health risks nor are they restrictions on freedom - they are there to protect health as far as we are able to at the moment and the more who take them and use the passport the more things are freed up. If people want to get sick and infect their families then fine just stay away from me and mine. If you don't want to prove you have been jabbed then fine establishments like football clubs, pubs and cinema's will exercise their freedom to deny you entry.

The other thing is the London Mayor because he is Labour and Asian knows the shitstorm that will follow from all angles form him taking steps to cut the spread - Burnham took it all last year and the press laid into him and he knows given the chance they will again - his crimes are being Labour and Scouse

True but Omicron is so infectious local measures are pointless if people are still traveling the country to stay with friends and family. It will have to be all or nothing and I cannot see them wanting to do this before Christmas. Not be surprised to see things like football suspended though. Not even sure anything will stop it now anyway. A week ago maybe. Now it might be better not to slow it but hope it burns bright and fast.

The other thing pointofview misses is that there is a big antivax march in the centre of London today - I suppose there is an outside chance that they were all pro-vaccine who were standing at a nearby bus stop and suddenly decided Apple was the reason the number 8 bus was late and sought retribution

Bleating about their freedoms being taken away from them. What exactly have you lost over the last year or so? A holiday maybe? A few trips to the pub? Being told you must wear a mask on certain occasions? Wipe your fannies you selfish, selfish idiots.

Then there's the ones who won't have the vaccine cos "it's experimental". Their view is that enough people will do so before them and that they'll wait until they see how it works out. Good job the vast majority don't think that way isn't it? Again... utterly selfish.

They make me want to puke. Honestly, I couldn't give a fuck if they all did the decent thing and caught Covid and fucking died.

Thats the point isn't it? For me and mine we are all boostered up or will be as of Monday so all things being equal I am happy for my son and partner to come here for Xmas Day and Boxing Day - LFT's will be done prior too. That can only take place because Johnson won't do anything before Xmas coz his ego won't stand it. Thats a calculated risk I am prepared to take.

However in the New Year we are looking to see family in Manchester - I've only seen my Dad once since Boxing Day 2019 but he lives with one of my sisters who has gone full tinfoil hat over this and none of them ( except my Dad ) are vaccinated. Plus we would be going to see my other sister who has had stem cell therapy which left her with no immune system and that has had to be built up - so those are risks I am less than happy with so whilst its not ideal if the Govt take the decision out of my hands and ban mixing or travel for a while I will go along with it too.
