Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

But the option of insisting players wear face masks in a bid to minimise the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus on the pitch is likely to be ditched.
One Premier League star who wore a mask during a lockdown training session compared the experience to “running on top of Everest” because it hampered his ability to breathe

Wembley was definitely ruled out.

Was the Etihad not one? I'm sure I'd read something along those lines.

The London stadium another.

Either way, it's a load of codswallop and one shan't be getting involved.

Yes they were mentioned, though I'm sure I'd read we'd dug our pitch up already, so it might be the minihad they use.

Like you I'm not arsed either, I won't be watching any of it.

Digging up the pitch yet still pretend they can't refund people as they still may be able to watch the games?

The domestic season feels like its over but I am keen to see the Champions League. Other sports are returning too. Today the transport secretary was outlining changes to the transport infrastructure to enable a more general return whilst the Stay at Home, Save Lives logo has changed. Football's moves are compatible with what is happening in the rest of society, and whilst this might be a period to endure, and survive, for some it might make life more bearable and give us something to look forward to. I thought City's Champions League hopes had vanished so I am hoping that those games are played. Hopefully by the time they come around, Ciy fans will actually enjoy them.

I know life is grim but we should embrace things that make us feel better and sport has traditionally enabled some to do that.
