Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

When ever football starts up again. Which it will eventually. The problem is if it is played behind closed doors how do you stop the fans from congregating outside of the said football grounds. There is simply no way around this problem, to stop them from congregating around the football grounds. The social distancing measures will go out of the window. Specially if it is the scousers, we all know that they are never to be blamed for anything.

All sports will be the last to have the ban lifted, that could be about 6 months down the line which would take it to about the end October or early November. The way that things are going at the moment, there is no way that the season 2020/21 will ever start on time.

Do UEFA and the Prem have a crystal ball ? They throw around these restart dates beginning with May as though we're all stupid, then June and then July. UEFA then starts talking about Champions League games in August. It's pure speculation, but they're trying to convey the impression that everything's in-hand. This then adds to the public perception of football greed. Why not just be honest with us and say 'We just don't know when it will be absolutely safe to resume matches, but once government medical advisors confirm it's safe to resume playing (in the case of the Prem), we'll make an announcement'. Some people can only see the pounds and euros.

Behind closed doors , why would the government allow a footballerto break the 2 meter rule, yet my lad still cant go and visit his gf. If football can be played than we can all break the 2 meter rule. You cant have one section of society playing football and lots of couples havent been near each other for months !!

Looks like the campaign for the Dipper v Atletico game to be null & void is gathering pace , now escalated to the national news and the Dippers are demanding an "official judiciary inquiry" , this could go on for 30 years or more , get the candles out.

They don't actually want the game to be replayed they just want to moan for 30 years about the injustice and how they would have won the Champs league if they hadn't been forced to play the game with half the team ill from the virus.
