Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

This is the main points
  • Approving guidelines that still carry risk of death
  • Liability, insurance and testing for players, staff and their families
  • Possible transmission via sweat and goalkeeper gloves
  • Suspicions that some clubs are already ignoring guidelines
  • Increased risk for black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) groups
  • Ability of emergency services to attend training ground incidents
Good for them, absolutely spot on, and obvious to all but the idiots running football.

Tell that to the large amount of black players and other ethnicity players who are a large risk factor for the illness, just be upfront marvin
Are you arguing that black players are going to be more susceptible? The overwhelming reason why black and Asian people have borne the brunt of the virus is because of the social position they find themselves in. i.e. they work disproportionately in more exposed positions.

There maybe a small genetic factor. There's certainly a medical factor re age and genders (ACE2 expression) but I haven't come across anything yet to suggest that medically black and Asian footballers would be more predisposed to infection that white players.

The only thing I really value in my life right now, is exactly that "my life", so f*ck football.
Well in 6 months time you might think differently. You are still on here too so I know that's not entirely true. Your life is more than your health - even now.

Don't you have hopes and ambitions for the future?

Marvin, i dont think you are on the same wavelength as most people. It is just a sport, a pastime and is irrelevant in the bigger picture. If it wasnt for money, the powers that be wouldnt give a toss, ie non-league. It can come back when there is a vaccine, and even then, when everyone else has been given the injection. 6 months, a year, who cares?

all i can say is their must be a hell of a lot of in house cash at the FA riding on liverpool to seal this, im not talking of a fiver here and their more likely millions at good odds, no brainer really when you see how VAR has helped them along, put the two together and it starts to come clear, the only thing they didnt bank on was corona

there is a genetic factor, you need to read more, they are people in a high risk catagory

That¨s also the noise coming from the Local Authority. It is also what my union has been told. Absolutely insane to reopen schools. The last place any parent would want to put their child is in with other children who may have no idea about social isolation. It will be impossible for staff to control. I have been in school every day during lockdown and speak from the experience of trying to keep very small numbers apart. Absolute recipe for disaster and will gain nothing other than a bit of political kudos.
Thats my worry tbh. I know he would be better off in school education wise. But doing so puts our family a little bit more at risk.

The irony of a Dipper football manager stating "Some people think football is a matter of life and death ,i dont like that attitude i can assure them it is much more serious than that".
Its about time the Dippers showed an ounce of decency and conceded the title ,unprecedented events have snookered them , its not there year , maybe next year

LOL THIRTY YEARS

Its May 2020 and Manchester City are still Premier League Champions.
ah well,,,,next year ay lah
