Corruption in English football?

Funny you should mention Arsenal. For me - and this is some achievement considering the dubious reffing of some of our games down the years - they were on the receiving end of the most bent refereeing display in Premier League history in 2004, courtesy of the head of PIGMOL no less:

Just watched that.....made me quite sick really! How the hell did that muppet ever end up in charge?

Don't forget his 'strategic plan' for putting a new name on the trophy every 6 years.
If that’s not blatant fiddling with the premiere league then I don’t know what. When I first read his departing statement i thought what other tricks had he been up to whilst in charge. Very disturbing.

Most of this thread is about bent penalty decisions in the rags/dips favour. We should also look at penalties the other team should have been given but weren't. Chelsea at the Swamp this season is a prime example.
Also look how Aguero/Adebayor/Ballotelli were punished days after the alleged incident. Rooney at Wigan, Cavani at Everton are just 2 examples of how they are looked after.

That was just ridiculous. Maguire had Azpilicueta in a headlock and VAR didn't even look at it.

This match is always the benchmark for bent refereeing. Riley is now in the most senior position for referees in this country. Halsey has confirmed that referees have been asked to change their reports under pressure on occasions. That tells you all you need to know about the culture at PGMOL. I am not saying every match is bent, or that City are always the victims, but it is absurd to suggest there is no corruption at all in English football. There is in every other section of UK society and football is no different.

That and Clattenburg's refereeing of a Merseyside Derby.

Certainly a toss up between that one and any City game (usually against Everton or Liverpool) ever refereed by Peter Walton....

Ginger pig at Wigan. Rags needed to win to get the title on last day.

Flying kick into Wigan player. No foul, no card. Scores the winner later on.
