The Serious Fraud Office and the financial services regulator are a standing joke who rarely secure any significant convictions despite the rampant corruption in banking and the City of London.

There you go pal. 2 more examples there to go along with Tommy Weight, Giuseppe "Pino" Pagliara & Dax Wright all convicted of bribery 12 months ago

The police, to my best knowledge, will investigate any law breaking, irrespective of interested parties. This thread, if you read the thread title (always helps)!is about English football. I’ve watched city since I was 6 and football in general since the same age. Yet to see any person or persons charged in court with corruption in those 47 years so that’s the basis for my thoughts. I may have missed some huge case or cases and, as requested, would happily like to read them if I have. Do send me the details if you have them. As I say, the last 47 years, so plenty of scope...

Exactly. Football is bent. English football is bent. It’s not rotten too to bottom but all the evidence is there (smoking gun or not) to take a good look at it. But English footballs governance is non existent. Even industries supposedly better set up to investigate concerns can’t and don’t. What chance does footie have.

we’ve had 2 refs now - the custodians of the game on the pitch, the supposed visible symbols of fairness and integrity - admit they’ve been influenced and pressured. Publicly. Investigation? Nah!
