I know we are debating whether or not we can beat them to 4th, but read this on the Liverpool forum:

Remaining fixtures (winners in bold):

Liverpool v Birmingham
Spurs v West Brom

Chelsea v Spurs
Liverpool v Newcastle

Spurs v Blackpool
Fulham v Liverpool

Man City v Spurs

Liverpool v Spurs

Villa v Liverpool
Spurs v Birmingham

The above would see Liverpool finishing 5th on 64 and Spurs on 63, in 6th spot!

The Spurs results above look pretty reasonable, to be honest. Can Liverpool win all their remaining games? I doubt it, but it is possible.

I don't even want to go there but when you look at our away games coming up, plus the fact we have to play both Everton and Spurs - teams against which our record is pretty dismal - then it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Liverpool could finish ahead of us!??!??! God forbid.

thats a ridiculous and appaling opinion chippy!

Liverpool won't win all they games. They're too inconsistent, they'll probably beat Spurs and Villa but get beat by Fulham and Brum.

Never say never, but I would be amazed if that happens. As long as we get 4th!

Liverpool are 7 points down on us with 5 games left to play, and a worse GD than Spurs. Assuming we don't have some collapse in our own GD, that means they need at least three games to get above us in the league. We only need 9 points (or 8 points if we can rely on our GD, which we should) to make it impossible for them to get above us.

But yes, it's technically possible.
