Oh I know it won't be returned to service! Just saying the decision was stupid and they should still be operational.

Hence the stupidity. The working up period of the QEs and F35s is entirely normal (the USS Gerald R Ford is a seven year working up period for example!), the problem is the gap created by the idiotic scrapping of the Harriers and Invincibles when they could have remained operational in the interim.
 
Who wants planes on aircraft carriers anyway ? So very much yesterdays fashion.
