Regional scoreboard supports the sense of erratic test results.

But is happily a big fall in the North West. Though still the worst region accounting for just under a third of the Enhland total and just under a quarter of the UK total.

Regional Scoreboard:

London + 65 - down from 117

West Midlands 77 - down from 127

Yorks & Humber 127 - UP from 73.

North West 201 - down from 311

Greater Manchester as you recall had a record total of 209 yesterday and a low of 79 three days ago.

Today the GM total is a more middle road 114.

It was 136 the first day after the partial lockdown.

So - yes - it is hard to read much beyond inconstintancy into these numbers of cases day to day. I guess that is inevitable as they will be driven by isolated outbreaks and very much depend on the tests being done in the right places and efficiently.

GM scoreboard

Headline - as you mght expect - down everywhere with one exception - some happily by a very long way - but in of themselves emphasising the erratic nature of these test numbers.

Bolton 8 - down from 13. 274 past month. 81 past week. 29 past 3 days (was 28). Pop score 727.

Bury 3 - down from 7. 132 past month. 51 past week. 13 past 3 days (was 20). Pop score 738

Manchester 34 - up from 33. 655 past month, 196 past week. 90 past 3 days (was 84) Pop score 642

Oldham 30 - down from 44. 544 past month. 210 past week (worrying record). 87 past 3 days (was 90) Pop score 1007. Fifth to join the 1000 club with ease alongside other problem areas Leicester, Bradford and Blackburn.

Working out why these four cities/towns have been worst hit in the UK has to be an ongoing research I assume.

Rochdale 17 - down fro 23. 405 past month. 91 past week (less than half Oldham). 44 past 3 days (was 38). Pop score 894.

Salford 5 - down from 18. 245 past month. 66 past week. 29 past 3 days (was 31) Pop score 602. (Still lowest in GM)

Stockport 5 - huge drop from 26 - suggesting as was posted earlier by a knowledgeable local (I assume) that yesterday was driven by one place. 223 past month. 70 past week. 38 past 3 days (was 46). Pop score 631.

Tameside 2 - even bigger drop from 30 - and you have to wonder if there was a testing anomaly in Stockport/Tameside yesterday as these neighbour areas fall from 56 new cases to 7 overnight! 208 past month.
79 past week. 37 past 3 days (was 47) Pop score 761

Trafford 7 - down from 12. 144 past two weeks. 54 past week. 25 past 3 days (was 22) Pop score 634.

Wigan 3 - same as yesterday for GM star town. 99 past month. 24 past week. 10 past 3 days (was 13). Pop score 674

Other watch towns:

Blackburn & Darwen 39 - up from 20. Pop score 1041

Bradford 29 - down from 73, Pop score 1008

Leicester 38 - up from 34 (in the 30s for several days). Pop score 1476

Preston 7 - down from 13 - lowest since been monitoring Pop score 909.

Do they give male/female breakdowns in the UK?

There are overall stats on ages. sex etc in the hospital deaths/admissions data.

Or they were there on the Beta before it replaced the other site. May have been removed. But they were really just graphs of age ranges who die etc that you can find on line. Not overly helpful or updated much if at all.

The England data is still there but its just admissions by age as a block 0-5, 6-17, 18-64, etc. As I say not too useful.

Annoyingly they have also not updated the hospital data again so it has not been for three days now.

I hope my cynical mind is wrong in thinking that it shows bad news like increasing numbers so they are checking it over first.

It may turn up later. Will keep looking.

The amount of people who believe the earth is flat, chemtrails are real, 5g is fucking with our brains, we never went to the moon etc would surprise you too. Lots of people are largely quite stupid. They believe everything is a conspiracy and can't quite comprehend that 99.9999% of things that happen have fuck all to do with them, but they're convinced that they're all trying to be kept in the dark anyway.
Who paid you to say this?

National Track and Trace system being scaled back and supplemented by local authority staff knocking on the door when people can't be contacted by phone or text.

About time.

People think they're being cold called to be sold stuff they don't want or scammed of their account details, so don't answer. Two tries by phone then send the local council round - eventually in hasmat suits.

Should do the job. Finally it will become a world beating system

Rocksalt Cafe Bar and The Moortop Pub and Kitchen, in Heaton Moor, both closed their doors on Sunday. This may be the case for the sharp increase in Stockport. Hopefully both places were taking details for track and trace.

Apparently thats just one guy who went in both, whist waiting for his test results. Then tested positive. But there may be more cases when people are tested.

Thanks. May well be the trigger in both Stockport and Tameside. If so hope that spike in those twp places yesterday resulted from tracking it.

But why not publicise this like Niciola Sturgeon does?

As Boris seemingly is not interested maybe should have a televised GM briefing every day to point these out. Then all the Mickey Mouses in Offerton or Reddish can call up and say they were there but they might have the wrong name recorded if trying to track them.

I see not from the post above. But the point is valid even so.

Hospital data updated and it IS bad news.

England had fallen from 565 to 545 yesterday.

But today rose to 647.

102 admissions is the highest rise in a day in England since 22 July when 130 were added - though the next day they fell by 193 - so it was a one daything.

We will have to hope that happens here too.

I will look to see where they came from but I fear we can guess.

More bad news ICU ventilator beds rose by 4 in England today - up from 56 to 60.

Biggest rise since - oddly - 23 July - day after the one noted in the above post.

Though again the next day the number fell by an unusually big number - 9.

All 4 increases in the ventilator beds were in the North West today.

And 24 of the new patients were added in the North West too - The number had fallen to just 123 yesterday after a continuous fall daily since (guess the dates!)

But is today up to 147.

Yorks has risen by 4, East of England by 5. South East by 11 today.

But the MIdlands has gone from 77 on Saturday to 142 today.

London fell by one.
