Nicola Sturgeon discusses (again) the importance of the % figure of tests - the one England alone declines to record.

WHO have suggested that every country needs to keep it below 5% to keep containment of the outbreak. France has just gone over that level.

Yesterday the 244 Scottish cases were at 3.7% of tests and the number has been rising week by week. This is the highest in the UK in months.

Todays 2.7% from 70 cases. she warns, will be a false low as there are many missing cases it would seem.

You can understand why she was increasingly frustrated with the mess that our UK testing has become.

And anyone reading Tolmie's recent posts will know this is now at a point where it has to be sorted immediately because it is causing great distress in people impacted.

Week to week for Scotland:

0 deaths v 0 today.

146 cases v 70 (+ whatever it really is today).

2.4% v 2.7% (and rising depending on the above).

256 in hospital v 264 today

5 icu v 7 icu today.

If you watch Dr John Campbell's video from today he talks about a German study which is showing that difference between case numbers and deaths is growing wider and that the death rates of the groups most at risk has fallen considerably over the past couple of months despite the increased number of cases. He believes this is good news, I suppose that we shall see if this study bears out over here in about three weeks.
because we are ahead of it when patients end up in hospitals instead of firefighting a new disease we didn't know how to treat ,we have some treatments that help stop people needing ventilation ,it is not weaker,we are better, key is now to not overwhelm the nhs with it when they get overwhelmed in a bad flu season as itis, that is what boris should be saying,it is clear, factual and easy to understand

Pasta also disappeared very quickly.
One of my favourite bits of hoarding madness was when the pasta went it was another week until the dolmio ran out. Almost like the daft twats sat looking at their mountain of pasta for a few days before they realised they could do with sauce. Same with flour, that all disappeared then a week later eggs. The thick twats must have googled baking and realised you don't just put a bag of flour in the microwave to make a cake.

If people use shite like Dolmio rather than making their own there's no hope for them anyway.

He has been spot-on so far. The best source of information on Covid by far.

I’d imagine that, looking at who was buying dried pasta (and why would you), it’ll be discovered 5 years after its best by date at the back of a cupboard prior to being thrown in the bin......

I would herd every single one of the panic buyers and bog roll hoarders into a large field and get one of those massive Hercules fire bombers to fly over and spray the cunts with piss. Then would come the Apache Helicopters.

He is good. Talks about evidence though and that’s not very popular with governments and the population, to some extent. People crave certainty, even when it’s wrong, and that’s why we’ve never been truly ‘following the science’. Science, by its very nature, is uncertain and constantly evolving as more data is discovered.

Wales data 0 deaths happily.

183 cases - new high. At 1.9% of tests.

Bear in mind this is likely to have the underreporting issues Scotland described as UK wide.

Last week it was 0 deaths and 133 cases at 2.3% of tests.

Northern Ireland data:

0 deaths

109 cases from 1.3% of tests. (again underreporting likely).

Rolling average 556 (up from 553)

16 in hospital (+4) 1 in icu ventilator bed (same).

The 556 split in terms of age as follows: 111 (under 20) 230 (20 - 39) 123 (40 - 59) 70 (60 - 79) 22 (80+)

So that's about 18% over 60 current positive cases.

N Ireland v last week

1 death v 0 today

141 cases v 109 today

1.8% v 1.3% today (likely under reported)

12 patients v 16 today

1 icu v 1 today

Rolling weekly average 639 v 556 today.

England hospital deaths good news for those who find the cases rising deaths not argument in the video posted above promising.

1 death is the total It happened yesterday and not in the NW.

This is Sunday data so usually low but last week it was 4 deaths and all of them were from the NW.

So England hospital death data reads:

13 Sep adds 1 = 1 after one day.

12 Sep adds 0 = 2 after two days.

11 Sep adds 0 = 4 after three days.

10 Sep adds 0 = 6 after four days.

9 Sep adds 0 = 5 after five days. The lowest five day total in five days. And start (hopefully) of a new run of single figure numbers.

No way to spin this as anything but good news.

So the UK hospital death total today is just 1. The last two Mondays it was 4. Last week that 4 became 3 on all settings deaths.

Cases so far from the three nations without England (assuming the under reporting gets corrected today later) are at 362 - which is the lowest in a while but with that caveat.

Last week the three nation total was 420.

England later added 2528 cases to total for UK 2948.

Age range of the "70" Scottish infections today

6 people aged 65+
12 people under 20 including 1 child aged 0-4
52 people aged 20-65
