scientific advisor says expects to see these sort of numbers to be stable for about 2 weeks and should see it dropping after this.
Looking at how rest of Europe is easing restrictions, it’s likely we will follow.

Fingers crossed.

I suspect we'll hold off relaxing the measures until after the bank holiday on 8th May, given how wary (rightly so) the government were about the Easter weekend and preventing the spread.

Thanks Karen. You are doing a good job here. I get half of the information about COVID-19 from here because of people like you.
I swear to God if people keep up with the info on this thread, they know more about this disease that 99% of the UK population. More than the bloody BBC know about it, that's for sure.

60% immunity equates to about 200k lives. Those figures are probably very rough.

It's not a completely bonkers strategy though.Insuring against a severe 2nd wave is significant but given the number of vaccines under development it's a very costly call. If they pursue this, they are not going to come clean. I think it was a Sky journalist who asked them today in the briefing about whether they were suppressing the virus to the max and they dodged the question
Forgive my naivety Marvin but is it necessary to devote all to just one strategy? Are they mutually exclusive or can a concurrent use of different strategies have not only benefits but also a synergistic effect on solving this life or death problem?

Yes I made that decision a while back. I don't want to read sensationalism and speculation, just facts and hopefully good news. It has kept me sane so far.

Your next lesson is do not use capitals for rags or dippers!

Noted..thanks! Can I ask a real 101 question....why are they rags (cotton industry?)?
These days, I mostly refer to the other lot as *Liverpool, because after this season they'll forever have an asterisk by their name - and that will drive them insane. Reading people on here talk about dippers, klanfield, the cult, candlefield etc does crack me up, though

Welcome Mr Fulham.

Years ago, their own fans referred to the as the rags because they were the shit of Manchester. Then, Umbro made them a kit from leftover material for the 1968 Euro final.

It’s better than M*****s.
