You also don't need any qualifications, not even a woodwork GCSE to become a Member of Parliament. Think about that. Apologies to woodworkers it was the first thing that came into my head. What is even crazier is that you need lots of qualifications to end up as a GP and there are plenty of idiots doing that job!
There've been some pretty talented carpenters down the years:

Of the 87 NW deaths today Bolton at 17 and East Lancs (Blackburn) at 13 had the most. Pennine had 8 and Cheshire 6. With Salford 4 and Southport 4. Liverpool had 5.

74 of the 87 NW were over the Fri/Sat/Sun weekend - as usual the highest catch ups through less recording then.

England hospital deaths 3 wks v 2 wks v last wk v today

207/ 77 NW v 225 / 80 NW v 300 / 114 NW v 330 / 87 NW today

Rise week to week 9% v 33% v 10% and less than a 60% rise in the three weeks which is hopeful on one of the two worst days of the week (Tue & Wed are always higher due to weekend catch ups).

Change in NW % of total week to week 37% v 36% v 38% v 26% - which shows the same pattern as other hospital data - the NW seems to be slowing the most of all the regions. Hopefully that will continue.

Scotland 3 wks v 2 wks v last wk v today

Deaths 25 v 28 v 39 v 37 today

Cases 1327 v 999 v 832 v 1248 today - a little worrying to see a 50% increase week to week but so far it a one off so let us see how it goes.

Patients 1100 v 1254 v 1239 v 1249 today - a clear stabilising over 2 weeks and lower today than 2 weeks ago but no downward trend as yet - especially given the rising death numbers up to this week.

But overall still reasons to be positive. ICUs, even greater impact of death numbers here, also show this trend.

ICU ventilators 82 v 92 v 102 v 95 today

These figures are from yesterday i presume ?

Yes, they tally them daily up to tea time. The case and deaths data is always from the day before. As it is for all four nations.

And many of the deaths and cases are actually from previous days up to some weeks before as my detailed day to day numbers for England I post here daily afterwards show.

They are just deaths announced today and separate lists are kept of that number (the one the news tonight reports for the UK added together) and a constantly updated list ascribing the deaths to the actual day of death.

These tend to end up quite different after a week or two as I note from time to time when posting that data.

But - as with the chaos on the testing last night - they are just reallocated to different days and the total we are at remains the same (bar rare exceptions were deaths are removed later if redefined).

Ok,i deleted my post before you replied

the old man my mrs saw die yesterday at Tameside wasn't included

i get very upset, angry, feel useless with just one single death because of this fucking bastard disease

Remember that day years ago - about 2006? when its snowed like fuck and very few went in work. I was one of the idiots who did that - went to work. Came home and one of the ex wives had gone! Managed to clear everything out of the house in all that snow. Fair fucks to her - she must have really hated me. I would have waited for the snow to have melted.
“One of the ex wives”. Fucking hell, how many have you got?!

If anyone gets the chance, have a listen back to last half hour or so of James O’Brien on LBC today. Some absolute nut jobs calling in about the vaccine. One chap reckons the vaccine will have a chip in it that will sync to 5g and then ‘they’ will be able to kill us.
Fucking hell. As much as my politics don’t align with James O’Brien’s, he’s good value on LBC and I hope he ripped that **** a new one!

Wales 3 wks v 2 wks v last wk v today

Deaths 7 v 4 v 22 v 34 today This is still rising at a disproportionate level given the size of Wales population. That would be about 600 deaths today if scaled up to England population.

Cases 1207 v 1198 v 444 v 705 today - that 444 was a reporting anomaly last week later added on and rose to over 900 next day so will not read much into it.

Patients 685 v 900 v 1044 v 1060 (Friday) So again looks like a slowing down.

Ventilators 45 v 54 v 68 v 67 (Friday)

the pcr tests they are using are clearly not fit for purpose for example elon musk tested +ve and -ve on the same day. the test centre near me is completely empty every time i walk past. In a survey half of nhs nurses said they would not take the vaccine. that is nhs nurses. So how will the vaccine ever work
