I take loads of precautions, and have instilled it into the rest of them. We all do our best to be safe so we can continue to meet as a family. They’ll be some sad **** that thinks that’s wrong, and they’re entitled to their opinion.

if everyone was doing the basics and social distancing and wearing masks in public it would re-assure a lot more people. It would be fab to include grandparents etc. in family bubbles but unfortunately up to this point third party transmission has been too high.

Personally, I wouldn’t know.
I do know I have kept myself away from as many people as possible since January.
At first my family thought I was mad until they saw what was reported inn MSM.
Since then they have also changed their practices.
Meanwhile I can’t control the fucking morons in society, but I do feel that my life shouldn’t be affected by them.
My family come before both Government and the dickheads.

What does that even mean?

In a pandemic, you can “feel” any way you like. Trouble is, the virus doesn’t care how you feel!

My family come before Govt & dickheads, too, which means we are NOT having anything other than a NUCLEAR FAMILY Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. My nephew is immuno-compromised, and my In-Laws are in their 80s, so our usual 10 for all family occasions will be a 4-4-2...just to keep this about football...with the three branches of the family (Parents, son & daughter) celebrating with their own respective households.
 
I have woken up to the wonderful news this magnificent Govt has made the decision to have a 5 day Christmas Covid break......

Have these fucking imbeciles not learned nothing over the past 9 months??

That's not what I heard on the news just now. BBC saying the Sun are leading with that story and someone just now saying they will have to see where we are with the R rate nearer the time before any decision is made.

Christ they are mad. I am not confident that Sturgeon won’t do the same. The only justification can be that families would mix anyway over Christmas or that infection rates are very low.
Thankfully the numbers where I live are pretty low and falling fast so there is a possibility it could be justified here. Can’t see that being the case in the West of Scotland though as Most of it has just been placed under tougher lockdown level.

He is right in one respect that It is clearly a wave fumction of some sort. But it is probably based on population density, underlying health conditions and the interventions in place.
Only the democracies of Taiwan, South Korea and Japan have got the interventions right. Germany sort of has too but it's looking like it isn't really working for them this time.

Think most families will make individual decisions based on their own circumstances. Government may guide their decisions, but doubt any strict rules would be any use over Christmas.
